Convicted killer and custodial father JOSHUA SAWYER viciously fought the mother for custody during their divorce, then shut off all contact with the mother afterwards. And what does Daddy do with his little girl then? Shut her in a box, starve her, and beat her to death. Repulsive. When are the courts going to stop catering to these disgusting criminals?

Father pleads guilty to killing child
Joshua Sawyer entered unexpected plea

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A Chesapeake father pleaded guilty Thursday, to killing his 5 year old daughter.
Police arrested Joshua Sawyer in June 2009 after the death of his daughter, Carly. Officers responded to his Oliver Avenue home to investigate a complaint of child abuse. Police said the little girl was confined in a box, tied up, beaten and denied food.
A medical examiner ruled the cause of Carly's death was blunt force trauma and said starvation and medical neglect also contributed to her death.
The child's stepmother, Brandy Sawyer, was charged with 1st degree murder and felony child neglect. Her trial has not taken place.
