A Seneca Falls man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, and second degree harassment yesterday by the Seneca Falls Police Department.

According to the Seneca Falls police, a 16-year-old daughter of Robert D. Shields, 44, 4 Troy Street, attempted to keep her father from leaving in a car bout 11:45 p.m. last night.

As Shields was backing out of the driveway, the daughter took the keys out of the ignition, police said. Shields allegedly wrestled the keys away from his daughter and scratched her in the process. Once back inside their residence, Shields pushed his daughter, police said.

Shields was arraigned in Junius Town Court and sent to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insured bond.

His next court appearance is March 9 at the Seneca Falls Town Court.
