COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WZZM)-- Kent County deputies have located the father of a boy found wandering in Comstock Park Wednesday morning.

The three year old boy was found near Alpine Avenue and York Creek Drive around 3 a.m. by a contract crew working for the Kent County Road Commission.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department says the boy's grandfather recognized his grandson's picture on TV, and immediately called the Sheriff's office. Several minutes later, 911 operators received a frantic call from the child's father, saying his son had walked away from the apartment.

The boy is currently being cared for by Child Protective Services workers. Investigators are questioning the family to determine how the boy was able to wander away from the apartment.
