Fathers' rights campaigner faces jail for threatening woman reporter, elected official (Scotland)
It's not a big stretch to imagine that dad BRIAN MCKERROW treated his wife and kids in the same threatening, violent way. But the fathers rights movement encourages these guys to believe they are entitled to order any women around and bully them. They are so astonished when women fight back.

Father’s rights activist threatened MSP and Panorama reporter
A CAMPAIGNER for fathers’ rights faces jail after threatening a television reporter and telling an MSP he would take up arms against her.

Brian McKerrow, 42, wanted SNP politician Christina McKelvie to help him gain access to his children and repeatedly telephoned Panorama reporter Samantha Poling with pleas for her to highlight his case.
McKerrow, of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, who had defended himself at a trial in Hamilton Sheriff Court since November, first met Ms McKelvie while she was out campaigning in Hamilton during the 2011 Holyrood elections.
McKerrow, a plumber, wanted her assistance in getting access to his children but launched into rants against Ms McKelvie and her office staff after he was told she could not help.
At one point he told me that he knew people in the military who would sort us out
Christina McKelvie, SNP politician
She told the court that she was so concerned for her safety she even bought herself a dog. She said: “I have never been as unnerved as I have been with Mr McKerrow.
“At one point he told me that he knew people in the military who would sort us out, he then demanded a meeting with me which he said would be historic, which put me in a state of fear and alarm. He said he would take up arms against me.
“This has made me much more wary I’m now nervous when I’m in a dark car park or street in case something happens. I even bought myself a dog.”
McKerrow also contacted Ms Poling, who had initially shown an interest in making a programme about his campaign for fathers’ rights.
However, following a meeting with him, Ms Poling withdrew from the project.
But, after enduring nearly a year of calls and contact from McKerrow, she reported him to BBC security chiefs in May 2012. She told the trial that she was terrified after McKerrow told her during one phone call that she was going to be “extinguished”.
Ms Poling, who regularly goes undercover with hardened criminals during her investigations, added that she had never been more frightened than she was when dealing with him.
She told the court: “I felt unnerved by what he was saying. I felt scared and I hadn’t felt that way before. Because of the work I do I have dealt with criminals and people who have made horrible threats to me.
“It got to the point where I was scared to answer my phone. It was invading my working day and private life. Even in the evening and at the weekends I was getting calls.”
McKerrow had denied all the charges against him and lodged a list of witnesses, including the Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill and MSP Roseanna Cunningham.
However, this was objected to by the prosecutors and McKerrow had to rely on his own evidence in his defence.
He was found guilty by Sheriff Vincent Smith and sentence has been deferred for reports.

Dad makes terroristic threats against son's elementary school--and blames mom (Hurst, Texas)
You can just about bet that this POS was "terroristic" to his son and his mother as well. These types typically are. These are also the types who never take responsibility for their own actions.
Dad is identified as ALEXIUS TAVO.

Parents at Hurst elementary school worry about father’s violent threats
By Christina Rosales
8:00 am on March 6, 2013
Update, March 7, 8 a.m.: Hurst police say they have upgraded the charges of the suspect, Alexius Tavo, who was arrested yesterday at the elementary school.
Due to the two dozen parents who made statements of concern, police have made the charge of making terroristic threats into a third-degree felony.
Tavo is still in the custody of Hurst police.
Update, 11:45 a.m.: Hurst police say the father who they believe made violent threats against Donna Park Elementary School is in custody at the city jail.
According to authorities, Alexius Tavo violated an emergency protective order to stay away from the school. More updates to come.
Original post: Several parents of young students at a Hurst elementary school are worried about a father who made violent threats that he would “murder as many” people as possible at the school, according to a report from WFAA-TV (Channel 8).
Alexius Tavo, 29, sent the threatening text messages to his son’s mother in January, according to a police report. The two have a son who attends Donna Park Elementary School.
“I will get a machine gun soon,” one text said, according to a report obtained by Channel 8. “Get a bunch of bullets. Then goin to school and murdering as many ppl as possible. Kids and all. And I’m going to put a letter in my pocket and say this is your fault.”
The woman reported the man to police, who arrested Tavo and charged him with making terroristic threats. He was jailed for 45 days.
According to parents at the school, they were not notified until last week, when school administrators sent a letter to families. The letter informed them that the suspect was banned from all Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD campuses and that an armed Hurst officer would be at Donna Park Elementary to enforce the ban.
According to a police report, Tavo told officers that he drank ten 40-ounce Bud Ice beers in six hours and smoked marijuana before making the threats. He also wept during his interview with police, reports Channel 8, and he told police that he was not in his normal state of mind on that day in January.
Several parents pulled their children out of the elementary school and enrolled them at other campuses with permission from the school district.

Dad kept mom, youngest child captive in car, threatened to kill them (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota)
The police here were freaking unbelievable. They think nothing of endangering the lives of women and children. Sent dad CHIA VANG on his way because the order of protection wasn't valid yet? WTF?

Drive leads to charges of kidnapping, threats

Father vowed to kill mom and youngest child as they drove around the metro area for six to seven hours, charges say.
A Brooklyn Park man kept the mother of his three children captive in a car for six to seven hours Wednesday, circling the Twin Cities while threatening to kill her and their youngest child, authorities say.
At one point, the woman pressed her face against the window and mouthed "Help me!" to another driver, according to charges filed Friday against Chia Vang, 27.
He is scheduled to appear Monday in Ramsey County District Court, charged with one count of kidnapping, two counts of terroristic threats and one of methamphetamine possession.
The victim, identified as M.V., told police that Vang was her ex-boyfriend; he said they were married in the Hmong tradition.
According to the charges, M.V. had stayed in domestic-abuse shelters after Vang allegedly head-butted and choked her in their home last week.
The woman, 29, asked her nephew to pick her up to run errands Wednesday, and as they rode with the couple's two oldest children, they noticed Vang following them in her car. He had learned of her whereabouts by looking at the caller ID on her mother's phone, he later told police.
The woman called 911 from a St. Paul market, and police arrived to speak with Vang. Police sent him and the couple's youngest child away on foot after learning that an order for protection that the mother had sought was not yet valid, authorities say.
Vang reappeared, threw the couple's youngest child into the mother's car, blocked in the nephew's vehicle and forced M.V. into the car.
During the drive, he threatened to pick up the other two children to "kill them all in a car crash," the complaint states.
He was arrested in Washington County. M.V. and the child were not hurt.

DASTARDLY DADS FROM THE ARCHIVES (United Kingdom - 2006)
Was in the process of my annual housecleaning of old files and the like, when I found this little gem from 2006. If you want to know what the fathers rights movement was and is about, start with Fathers 4 Justice (F4K). It was quickly overrun with abusive, threatening control freak men with histories of domestic violence--and ended with a threat to kidnap former Prime Minister Tony Blair's son. Whether a fathers rights organizations is characterized as "moderate" or "hardline" matters little--they are all more or less infested with the same terrorist personality types.

Fathers give up campaign
By Sarah Womack and George Jones 12:01AM GMT 19 Jan 2006
Fathers 4 Justice, the radical campaign group for men involved in child custody battles, was disbanded last night after allegations that extremist elements were plotting to kidnap Tony Blair's five-year-old son Leo.
Matt O'Connor, the founder, said that after endless feuding in the group and dangerous activities by those on its fringes he had concluded that mothers were simply more mature than fathers.
"There may be a repeat of these sorts of antics and it would do serious damage to the debate and what we have achieved," he said.
"My view is that fathers are not ready for the changes we want to see in this country. They are part of the problem, not the solution, and they are perverting the cause.
"The truth is that our organisation has been run largely by women for two years. A nine-month pregnant woman will turn up and walk for miles at one of our demonstrations while an able- bodied father can't be bothered. We will speak to other groups such as Families Need Fathers and will not leave people in the lurch.
"But this organisation has come to its natural conclusion. I am almost past caring and want a good night's sleep; I have a newborn baby."
Last night Terence Bates, a spokesman for Real Fathers 4 Justice, a splinter group, said that his group's campaign would go on.
Downing Street refused to comment on the specific allegations about the "plot", which was apparently uncovered by Special Branch officers, but officials did not deny the report in The Sun.
Mr Blair's official spokesman confirmed that the Government, police and security services were concerned about the militant tactics adopted by extreme fringe groups. But No 10 angrily denied a report on Sky News suggesting that it had leaked the story to distract attention from the row engulfing Ruth Kelly, the Education Secretary, over sex offenders in schools.
Mr O'Connor, 38, who is divorced with two sons by his former wife and a three-week-old son by a new partner, said he had expelled about 30 members last year for talking about carrying out extreme stunts. Police had told him that anti-terrorism officers had visited former members of the group over Christmas.
"Anyone who considers kidnapping a five-year-old boy needs their head testing," he said.
Channel Four News said that members of the group claimed that they had been infiltrated by a police informer and that he had proposed the idea of the kidnapping.
In the three years since Fathers 4 Justice was formed, the issue of a father's right has been forced up the Government's lists of priorities.
The group has staged lighthearted stunts such as crane-top protests in comic strip outfits and scaled Big Ben. In 2004 it penetrated the Commons and flour-bombed the Prime Minister.
Campaigners have become increasingly confrontational - solicitors have been bombarded with abusive e-mails, court offices stormed and judges visited at their homes.
This led to accusations from lawyers and ex-wives that the organisation had created an atmosphere of intimidation and fear. Some former wives and girlfriends of the group's members described break-ups of their relationships involving violence, being forced to live in refuges and incidents in which their children witnessed frightening aggression by their fathers.
Two years ago anti-terrorist police were called in to investigate the sending of 60 hoax bombs to family court offices around the country by extremists - denounced by Fathers 4 Justice - demanding better rights for fathers.
Mr Bates told Channel 4 News: "Mr O'Connor should have done this more than a year ago. There were members within Fathers 4 Justice a year ago who were very unhappy with the way things were going.
"Nothing has really changed in family law - there are still huge problems." He said that many people had left the organisation because "Mr O'Connor has failed to move it forward". Mr O'Connor has also been accused of becoming autocratic.
Mr Bates said that the allegation of a kidnap plot was "absolute nonsense". He added: "There is no dark underbelly of extremist fathers within the organisation which Matt speaks about. There is no organised, extreme terrorist-type group planning to kidnap the Prime Minister's children."

Drunk dad threatened to kill 8-month-old daughter, then took off with her in car (Luzerne County, Pennsylvania)
Gee, what an impressive daddy this JOSE SANTANA is. "Allegedly" argues with the mother of his 8-month-old daughter, then I suppose to get even, he threatens to kill the baby before taking off with her. And did I mention that he was drunk? He was later pulled over for DUI and--SURPRISE!--had no car seat for the baby either.
Perfect illustration of how violent fathers use child custody (e.g. possession) as a way to control/punish the women in their lives. It's pretty obvious that father-child togetherness time was not Daddy's overriding motive here.

Dad gets into courthouse with gun; was "upset" about divorce, child support (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)
No doubt dad MARIN STROIA is the kind of poor little dear who will next be nominated for Sainthood in the fathers rights movement. Right, some saint. The kind of "saint" who sits on the floor at the courthouse with a gun to his chin while babbling about his divorce and having to pay child support. I hope to God this volatile freak didn't have child visitation, but I suspect he did, given that this is Florida. Basically any daddy with a pulse gets visitation in Florida--no matter how crazy or violent he is. Daddy's been charged with aggravated assault--mostly because he pulled this stunt in public in front of a judge. I would just about bet that the mother of their child has witnessed Daddy's scary melodramatic crap more than once--only to be ignored by the authorities.
A Florida lawyer friend of mine also can't help but wonder how this "incident" was allowed to take place. Says she: "For years at unknown cost to the county and others in time alone, they have been searching everyone going into Broward County Courthouse. No guns found. But they've got my manicure scissors, butane lighter, letter opener, plastic knife in the deli-packed lunch (guess I should have just got a metal knife at the cafeteria)...."

Man gets into Broward courthouse with gun
The Associated Press
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A man distraught over child support payments snuck into the Broward County courthouse and held a gun to his chin.
A deputy chased Marin Stroia upstairs Friday where he sat on the floor - a single bullet in the gun. Judge Joel Lazarus pleaded with Stroia to put the gun down so they could talk. The 59-year-old surrendered and was charged with aggravated assault.
Lazarus said he was upset about his divorce and needed someone to listen.
Witnesses said earlier they watched Stroia step out of line and try to bypass courthouse metal detectors. He slipped through the exit door as someone was leaving.
Court deputies say they frequently stop people from trying to enter through the exits. They're advocating to have lockable, one-way revolving exit doors installed.

Convicted felon dad guilty of beating 3-year-old son (Luzerne County, Pennsylvania)
Holy crap. Dad DAVID CAPPS JR. is certainly a winner. I'm not going to even attempt to describe the sheer variety of Daddy's criminal activities. All I can say is that I'm certainly not surprised that among Daddy's many accomplishments, he also managed to brutally beat his 3-year-old son.

Convicted felon guilty of beating 3-year-old son

Published: November 11, 2010
A convicted felon who moved to Luzerne County from Virginia while on parole for threatening to blow up a building was convicted Wednesday of severely beating his 3-year-old son last fall.
Jurors convicted David Capps Jr., 39, of Salem Township, of endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor simple assault but found him not guilty of recklessly endangering another person.
Capps, a father of six, faces up to 12 years in prison and a combined $25,000 in fines. Senior Judge Kenneth Brown said he would recommend a sentencing hearing sometime in early January. Brown ordered Capps, who had been free on $5,000 unsecured bail throughout the trial held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Capps has a "lengthy criminal history," according to Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney Jenny Roberts, including driving while intoxicated, myriad terroristic threats and a January 2004 conviction for threatening to bomb a building in Newport News, Va.
According to Luzerne County prosecutors, Capps beat his son so severely he caused injuries to the boy's chest, neck, arms and shoulders, requiring hospitalization and affecting his ability to breath.

Michael R. Sisak

Future Fathers Rights Terrorist Group is Back in Black (Melbourne, Australia)
Recently, a member of an Australia's fathers rights group with the ominous name of the Blackshirts endorsed a family court decision that placed two young girls in unsupervised visitation with their CONVICTED sex offender father.
Many of you may not be familiar with the OVERTLY fascist (the Blackshirts were originally a fascist paramilitary group under Mussolini), white-supremacist, blatantly anti-female, and terrorist factions of the fathers rights movement. Here's an introduction from the Australian Shared Parenting Law Debate blog.

Melbourne's Future Terrorist Group is Back in Black
Whilst the counter terrorism community was focusing on militant jihad cells, overlooked was the extreme right wing group, "Black Shirts" is back in the media spotlight.
State leaders and scholars have often struggled with defining terrorism. Australia has legally defined terrorism as the following:
In Australia, what constitutes an act of terrorism is defined in Commonwealth legislation. The Criminal Code Act 1995 states that a terrorist act means an action or threat of action where the action causes certain defined forms of harm or interference and the action is done or the threat is made with the intention of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause. Further, the Act states that 'the action is done or the threat is made with the intention of:
i. coercing, or influencing by intimidation, the government of the Commonwealth or a State, Territory or foreign country, or part of a State, Territory or foreign country; or
ii. intimidating the public or a section of the public;
and where the action
(a) causes serious harm that is physical harm to a person; or
(b) causes serious damage to property; or
(c) causes a person's death; or
(d) endangers a person's life, other than the life of the person taking the action; or
(e) creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public; or
(f) seriously interferes with, seriously disrupts, or destroys, an electronic system including, but not limited to: (i) an information system; or (ii) a telecommunications system; or (iii) a financial system; or (iv) a system used for the delivery of essential government services; or (v) a system used for, or by, an essential public utility; or (vi) a system used for, or by, a transport system.
In 2002, before the inquiry into family law and the introduction of shared parenting the black shirts were in the media spotlight:
"The Blackshirts say that their only intention is to promote the sanctity of marriage, and they believe that to achieve this aim adultery should be punishable by death. Furthermore, they warn that if the law does not change they may resort to dragging adulterers from their homes and lynching them....Blackshirts, who must renounce any partner taken since the breakdown of their marriage, have picketed Melbourne's family law courts for more than a decade, but only in the past year have they begun going for people in their homes....Despite having three separate exclusion orders imposed on them, they are expanding beyond their Melbourne base, according to Mr Abbott, and expect to begin activities in every state of Australia within the next 12 months. They claim to have as many as 300 members" - David Fickling, The Guardian, Monday 26 August 2002
"A Melbourne grandmother today told a court of her absolute terror when a militant men's group demonstrated outside her daughter's suburban home last year.
The County Court heard how the Black shirts, dressed from head to toe in paramilitary style garb, staged a series of demonstrations outside two homes in East Doncaster in September and November last year." - Nick Lenaghan The Age August 6 2002
"Abbott says. "I'm very angry, but I don't yell. I just make a list of men and women to die."
The words are shocking, but Abbott does not seem to notice. He is consumed by what he sees as betrayal.
For Abbott, those who leave a marriage - and they are now mainly women - are evil." The Age December 20 2002
"Smiling as he walked from the court, the most extreme figure in the men's movement vowed to continue his vigilante action, and to launch a new political party. Despite looming prison time if he breaks the law in the next 18 months, Abbott said: "I'm not deterred in the least. It only strengthens my resolve." -By Peter Ellingsen The Age October 3, 2004
"I’ve received emails and seen public statements over the years by extremist white supremacists, ‘fathers-rights’ activists, gay-haters and anti-Muslim bigots all of which could be seen as ‘expressing support for politically motivated violence’.
This report confirms that the planned anti-terrorism laws are targeted fairly and squarely at Muslims, even though there has yet to be any explanation as to why the existing laws are inadequate. Inciting or planing violence is already an offence under the existing Criminal Code." Andrew Bartlett Bartlett's blog NOV 2, 2005
So what does it have to do with shared parenting? Everything. Lindsay Jackel is the Victorian state director.of the Shared Parenting Council, the owner of the alias Manumit and also a recruiter of the blackshirts:

Some of you may have already heard a little about this group. Below is a
composite of various articles about the Blackshirt group in Melbourne,
Victoria, Australia, fwd fyi by way of background.
Additionally, several associated articles follow, and are in turn followed
by various commentary.
The group is organised and in your face. They are Dads who have lost
everything, have received no justice or fairness at the hand of a feminist
(family and magistrates) court and legal (government) system (when they
were taught in school that they would if innocent), have nothing to lose
and are frustrated and angry. Their hopelessness has turned to despair and
to depression. The Blackshirts offers them community and hope.
John Abbott, their leader, is known to me. He is both angry and committed.
He will not be deterred and, if necessary, will no doubt be prepared to be
a "martyr" to the cause.

After they caused terror into the lives of women, children and the elderly, they seized the moment by establishing a non profit organization no different to the non profit organisations that funded militant Islam, now black listed.
Amongst the mountains of commentary on the behavior of terrorists, many concur that targets are usually unprotected and easy. It is well established within the history of war strategies, that by targeting non-combative civilians mostly women and children provides a greater impact in their goals to instill widespread fear and traumatic impact.
Under the Howard government, the black-shirt leaders and members were gratified and rewarded for their acts and overlooked as terrorist despite many commentators struggling to define the variance. After the 9/11 attacks, state leaders have learned some very hard lessons about diluting the term and using it for political gain. It was only because, the previous prime minister was aligned with similar beliefs and values that this group was able to run riot on women and children, disseminate nearly all of the few protections available for the abused and even sabotage the humane culture that Australian society has taken so long to grasp.
