Father Charged In Death of Toddler Abandoned in Hot Car

UPTOWN

A Phoenix, Arizona father was arrested for manslaughter and child abuse when he abandoned his 2-year-old son in a hot car where the toddler later died.

James Koryor, 41, was taken into custody Tuesday when officials discovered he ran to the liquor store with his toddler, bought a bottle of gin, drank it on the way home and fell asleep inside his house.

The child, identified as Alpha Koryor, was left behind in the car. Detectives found signs that he had desperately struggled to escape the vehicle, which didn’t have any car seats, before dying in 90 degree temperatures.

Koryor was supposed to take his 2-year-old boy, along with his 5-year-old son, to get haircuts. The older son either got out of the vehicle by himself or was taken inside by his father, police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said. Family members asked where his little brother was, and he said the child was asleep, Crump said.

The mother was inside the home, studying, before finding her son’s body around 4 p.m., when she went to drive to class. Neighbors said they heard weeping and wailing from the family’s driveway.

Koryor sobbed uncontrollably in court when bond was set at $50,000. Prosecutors requested an increased bail, considering Koryor a flight risk, due to Koryor’s strong ties to the Ivory Coast, Liberia and Ghana.

Dad gets life sentence for stabbing deaths of two children during weekend visitation (London, England)

We've posted on this case several times over the past year. Dad JEAN SAY is another one of these violent fathers who NEVER should have been allowed any access to the children after his wife left him. This is one of those fathers who used  his access time to murder his children--all so he could "get revenge" against his wife for leaving him. The kids were just pawns in his control game. This guy made his intentions known through endless threats. Yet as usual, he was ignored by the authorities until it was too late.

Jean Say 'threatened wife' before murdering children

The court was told Say killed the children in revenge for his wife leaving him
Father admits murdering children

A man who boasted that he would one day do something the world would talk about has been jailed for life for stabbing his son and daughter to death.

Jean Say, 62, a retired concierge, attacked Regina, eight, and Rolls, 10, in their beds at his home in Southwark, south London, in February.

Say, who admitted murder, killed the children while they were on a weekend access visit to spite his wife who had left him, the Old Bailey heard.

He was given a 30-year minimum term.

Court documents revealed Say called his wife after the killings and said: "I have killed your children. Come and get the bodies."

'England will see'

Say, originally from Ivory Coast, killed his children a day after receiving an eviction notice from the council.

Because his wife had moved out of the flat with the children he was no longer entitled to live there.

Regina and Rolls were stabbed while in their beds Police said the children were awake when they were attacked and had put up a struggle as they had suffered "defence wounds".

Court papers described how Say threatened on three occasions to do something that would bring him infamy.

After one argument, Say, who had a record of being violent, warned his wife: "If I come back and find that I can't get into the house, you will see what I am going to do to you and the children. All the media, radio, TV, newspapers will be talking about it."

His wife asked if he would murder them and he did not reply.

Last year he complained that his wife should not have left him, adding that the "whole of England would see on the news and hear on the radio what happens", the court heard.

'Brutal and abhorrent'

Hi wife said in an impact statement to the court: "Say has taken from me the most two precious things in my life, Rolls and Regina.

"They were the most beautiful, thoughtful and fun-loving children who brought so much joy into my life.

"To have them taken from me so cruelly by their father has left what I can only describe as a huge void in my life. Not one moment goes by that they are not in my thoughts."

Det Insp Paul Clack, from the Metropolitan Police's Child Abuse Command, said: "Say's actions were cruel, brutal and abhorrent and the sentence he received today reflects the gravity of what he has done.

"It can not of course wipe away the terrible loss of these two young children. Nor can it in any way compensate for the unimaginable loss suffered by Regina and Rolls' mother who has displayed great courage, dignity and strength throughout this ordeal."

Dad "suspected" of murdering two children during weekend visitation (London, England, United Kingdom)

Dad JEAN FRANCIS SAY has been remanded for murdering his two children, ages 10 and 8, during his weekend visitation. Once again, we have a sh** who had to torture his ex-wife by calling her up and telling her what he did, too. Police are probing whether there was a history of domestic violence. I'm not a betting kind of woman, but I'm guessing yes. And that Daddy got unsupervised visitation anyway, because that's what happens these days.

Father remanded over child murders
(UKPA) – 10 hours ago

A man has been remanded in custody in south London, accused of murdering his two young children.

Jean Francis Say, 61, is suspected of killing the youngsters after his ex-wife left them with him for the weekend.

The bodies of Regina, 10, and Rolls, eight, were found at Say's flat in Empire Square, Southwark. It is understood both had suffered multiple stab wounds and police officers were confronted with a "horrific" scene. Say's wife, believed to be known as Antoinette, dialled 999 after he allegedly told her what he had done.

Say, who is from the Ivory Coast, appeared before Camberwell Magistrates' Court by video link from Walworth police station. Wearing a white long-sleeved police issue T-shirt, the retired concierge sat with his arms folded for the five-minute hearing.

Speaking through a French interpreter, he confirmed his name, address and other personal details. Magistrates remanded him in custody and ordered him to appear before the Old Bailey on Tuesday. A full hearing will take place on May 23.

Police were called to the modern block of flats in Empire Square at about 8.15am on Sunday. They found the children and called for paramedics. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shaven-headed Say was arrested in the flat. At least one knife has been recovered by police. Sources close to the inquiry said Say has made no comment in police interviews. He remains in custody, where he is believed to be on suicide watch after threatening to harm himself.

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Orchard, of the Child Abuse Investigation Command, known as SCD5, is responsible for the inquiry. Police are probing whether there was a history of domestic abuse between the couple and if the children were harmed.

Pictures of both children on a recent trip to the seaside have been posted on a social networking site. Rolls posed for a photograph in a black and white baseball cap and khaki shirt. On Facebook, he described his interests as online gaming and he was a fan of pop stars Beyonce, Usher and Nicki Minaj. He last updated his page, to pass on a point-scoring challenge game, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

His sister was photographed smiling, with a pair of sunglasses perched on the top of her head. On Facebook, she followed sites linked to fashion, rap and online games as well as posting links to music videos. She last updated her page at 10.38am on Saturday.
