BELIZE CITY–The 33-year-old father of a 12-year-old girl, of a Jane Usher Boulevard address, is accused of taking her to his house in the Lake I area on Independence Day Eve and raping her.

The incident allegedly occurred at about 6:00 Saturday evening, September 20.

When the child went home on Sunday, she reported the sexual abuse to her mother, and they went to the police on Sunday, Independence Day, and made a formal report that her father, a Salvadoran, had repeatedly raped her.

Police took the girl to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she was examined by a doctor. At the conclusion of the examination, the doctor confirmed that the girl had been carnally known.

SOUTH GATE (KTLA) -- A 21-year old man has been sentenced to 50 years to life in state prison for the beating death of his 10-month-old daughter.

Jose Deras was convicted February 7 of second degree murder for the Jan. 2011 killing.

The Salvadoran native also was convicted of sexually assaulting his wife.

Authorities say he beat the young girl, identified as Valerie, at their home in the 5100 block of McCallum Avenue.

Deputy District Attorney Heba Matta says the child was punched numerous times in her chest and hit over the head with a shoe causing fractures to her skull.

After the attack, prosecutors say Deras hid the girl's body in the car.

When his wife got home Deras tied her up and sodomized her.

Deras fled to Mexico following the rape and murder, but was located by authorities and returned to Los Angeles

Dad abducts--then abandons--2-year-old daughter after her mother's murder (Fayetteville, North Carolina)

Our fathers rights friends will certainly assure us that daddy ALEXANDER ZELAYA "snapped" because Mommy was mean to him or disrespected him or something stupid like that. ("Snapped" in this case meaning gunning down somebody in cold blood.) After all, all he wanted was quality time with his daughter! (The one he, uh, abandoned at a shopping center in another state.) I suppose we should be grateful, however, that this poor oppressed and misunderstood Daddy didn't slaughter the little girl as well. Because he was so "frustrated" and everything....

Notice that this POS also stole a neighbor's car at gunpoint. Will we blame this on Daddy's "frustration" as well?

Kidnapped Fayetteville toddler returned to grandparents; lawmen continue search for murder suspect

A staff report

A 2-year-old girl who was taken by her father after her mother was shot to death has been returned to Cumberland County, authorities said Wednesday.

Juliana Laticia Reyes, who was found early Tuesday outside a shopping center in Newport News, Va., is with her grandparents, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the grandparents, who live in Hope Mills, but they are the parents of 22-year-old Marianna Latisha Reyes, who was shot Monday night, spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said.

Authorities are still searching for Alexander Zelaya, 33, who is Juliana's father, Tanna said.

A warrant has been issued charging him with first-degree murder in the death of Reyes, authorities said.

Zelaya is accused of shooting Reyes, who was found outside a house on the 2200 block of Waco Drive in Fayetteville, Tanna said.

Deputies found Reyes about midnight after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots, authorities said.

Investigators believe Zelaya, an El Salvador national, left in a burgundy, four-door 1994 Subaru Legacy that he took from a neighbor at gunpoint, Tanna said. The North Carolina license plate is ZYT-3784.

A delivery truck driver in Newport News found the couple's daughter outside a closed business, authorities said. The child was wearing a T-shirt and a soiled diaper. The truck driver took the girl to a Food Lion grocery store and called police, authorities said.

Reyes, who was from Honduras, had been working off and on for about six months at the Mi Casita restaurant on Camden Road in Hope Mills, according to restaurant manager Gabriel Macias.

Over the last few months, she had been working the early shift.

"I didn't know much about her," he said Wednesday. "She was a very quiet girl. As far as I know, a very nice girl. Very respectful."

Macias said he didn't know anything about Zelaya or Zelaya's relationship with Reyes. On occasion, Reyes' daughter came to the restaurant.

"A beautiful little girl," Macias said.

He learned of her death, he said, in a phone call from an assistant.

"I couldn't believe it," he said. "We were expecting her to come in at 11 o'clock in the morning. It came as a shock."

Dad to be arraigned in beating death of 9-month-old daughter (South Gate, California)

Hah! When I first reported on this case, I castigated the press for referring to this obvious assault of the baby's mother as a "fight" between the two parents. Notice that the press is now referring to this clearcut assault as, well, an assault. If it were a mere "fight," than the 9-month-old baby wouldn't have been beaten to death in the middle of it, would she?

And notice that this "fight" involved binding the victim at knife point and sodomizing her. I'd say that is definitely an assault by any definition. It is only the media's weird obsession with false balance that lead them to minimize this as just a "fight." And their (sometimes) unconscious contempt for the female victims of domestic violence. Had this POS broken into the home of a stranger and committed this heinous crime, nobody would be labeling the incident as a "fight."

And now we hear that dad JOSE TULIO DERAS has been arrested in Mexico and is to be arraigned on murder charges.

DOWNEY - A South Gate man arrested in Mexico, where he fled after allegedly beating his 9-month-old daughter to death and assaulting his wife, was scheduled to be arraigned today on murder and other charges.

Jose Tulio Deras, 20, was set to appear in Downey Superior Court on one count each of murder and assault on a child causing death for the Jan. 15 slaying of his daughter, Valerie.

In connection with his alleged assault on his wife, Deras is charged with one count of sodomy by use of force, with allegations that he used a knife and tied and bound the victim.

The Salvadoran national was detained Monday in Mexico City, said Lt. Dave Coleman of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau.

On Wednesday, Mexican authorities flew Deras from Mexico City to Los Angeles International Airport, where he was turned over to Customs and Border Protection officers, U.S. Marshals and Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies.

Deras was being held in lieu of $5 million bail, according to inmate records.

If convicted, he could face up to 50 years to life in state prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.

A Nantucket man with a history of violence allegedly beat his 3-month-old baby boy on Christmas Day, police said.

Gerson Francisco Lopez Delgado, a 22-year-old from El Salvador, allegedly grabbed the boy by the head and shook him until he vomited, according to Nantucket police. The baby is being treated at Children’s Hospital in Boston, where police Lt. Jerry Adams said he’s doing well.

On Christmas Eve, Delgado allegedly assaulted the boy’s mother, who police would not identify, and waved a knife at her.

Delgado, who was arrested on Christmas, was arraigned today in Nantucket District Court on charges of aggravated assault and battery on the baby, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for the attack on his girlfriend.

He’s being held without bail.

At the time of the holiday attack, Delgado was on probation for a prior assault against the girlfriend in September 2008, Adams said.

Adams said a dangerousness hearing was set for next month.

A call to the Cape & Islands District Michael O’Keefe was not immediately returned.
