Dad in child custody "dispute" sentenced to prison for pulling loaded gun on his own father--who was from the Sheriff's Department (Minden, Nevada)

Dad MATTHEW AYMAMI pulled a stunt that abusive/violent fathers pull all the time. When you point a loaded gun on your wife and/or kids as part of a "custody dispute," you can pretty much count on getting away with it, especially if there are no witnesses and you didn't actually shoot anybody. 'Cause we all know that women and children are never believed when it comes to this kind of thing. It's the kind of "red flag" that the authorities always "miss" (ignore) until the family is finally annihilated.

Takes a special kind of stupid, however, to pull the same abuse-and-control move on a member of the Sheriff's Department who also happened to be YOUR OWN FATHER.

MINDEN, Nev.—The son of a Douglas County sheriff's captain has been sentenced to prison for pointing a loaded gun at his father who was intervening in a child custody dispute.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/zYExGR) Matthew Aymami (A-mah-mee) was sentenced by District Judge Dave Gamble last week.

Aymami pleaded guilty to one count of attempted assault with a deadly weapon in November. Prosecutors dropped a child abuse charge.

On July 12, Aymami pointed a loaded .45-caliber handgun at his father, Capt. David Aymami as the elder man tried to convince his son to comply with a court-ordered custody agreement in a pending divorce.

Police officers were at the home to enforce the agreement.

The father and son struggled with the weapon before officers could subdue the younger Aymami.
