A Zanesville man is currently in the Muskingum County Jail after being indicted Wednesday for the murder of his 10 month old son.

Detective Sgt. Ric Roush said that 29-year-old Joseph Miller of Zanesville was arrested Wednesday afternoon without incident and will be arraigned in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court next Wednesday. He's charged with one count of murder and one count of second degree felony child endangering.

"The death of the child was definitely not related to any type of an accident," said Sgt. Ric Roush. "The death was very suspicious and certainly warranted a police investigation."

Police said that the child's injuries occurred at a home in the 100 block of Beulah Avenue. Sgt. Roush said on the morning of December 8th 2010, 10 month-old Justen Miller passed away at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus after being taken their by life flight from Bethesda Hospital.

"This particular case did take a little bit longer, of course, of what we normally like," said Roush. "But you want to make sure you do a thorough job rather than a quick job that's not as thorough."

The exact cause of death is not being released at this time other than the injuries were non-accidental.
