MINNEAPOLIS -- A Minneapolis father accused of beating his 11-year-old son so brutally that the boy hid from him in an oven is in court Tuesday, and a verdict is expected.
Twenty-three-year-old William T. Hurley was charged late last year with malicious punishment of a child.
Investigators in the case say Hurley turned the oven on when the boy got in to make him come out.
The boy told police his father had been hitting him with an extension cord and burned him with an iron when he found the boy in his mother's bedroom.
