Dad gets no jail in assault of 7-year-old son (Sheboygan, Wisconsin)

Dad JOHN G. PARKER will be serving no jail time under a sweetheart deal he cut with the assistant DA. Instead, he'll just get a "deferred conviction agreement" for beating his 7-year-old son. (Note to reporter: a "spanking" is a swat to the backside that leaves no bruises. When the "spanking" leaves "numerous severe bruises" to the buttocks or elsewhere, and the victim is left screaming, it's not a spanking. It's a beating or assault. The fact that the father was using an object which broke during the course of said beating also proves that this was a beating.)

And what horrible outrage did this 7-year-old child commit to deserve such a thing? He "didn't clean up after himself." Oh, the horror.

Seriously, this father is a total @$$wipe. When Mom tries to discuss Dad's actions with him, Daddy got "upset" and pushed her, causing her to fall and sprain her wrist. Previously, Daddy punched through a bedroom door and threw a kitchen chair while the couple were "arguing about the boy's misbehavior."

Seriously, IF this boy has a misbehavior problem, check out the great role model he has in his father.

Given that Daddy is basically facing no consequences for his actions, I fear we will be seeing his name in the paper again.

Sheboygan father gets no jail for breaking ladle spanking son
Sheboygan Press staff • April 20, 2010

A 37-year-old Sheboygan man who broke a plastic ladle spanking his 7-year-old son will serve no jail time after receiving a deferred conviction agreement on a count of felony child abuse.

Under the agreement, the charge will be dismissed in two years if John G. Parker commits no further crimes, according to court records released Tuesday. Parker, of 2129 N. Ninth St., was charged Jan. 11 after admitting he hit the child seven times for not cleaning up after himself.
Assistant District Attorney Nathan Haberman recommended the agreement but sought a 60-day jail term for Parker on a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct related to a dispute with Parker’s wife. Judge Gary Langhoff imposed but stayed a 30-day jail term instead, meaning Parker will serve no time if he stays out of trouble.

Parker was also placed on two years probation so he remains supervised while the deferred conviction agreement is pending.

The boy’s mother said Parker grabbed the boy and spanked him repeatedly with the ladle as the boy screamed, police said. The boy suffered numerous severe bruises to his buttocks.

The mother said Parker got upset and pushed her two days later as they discussed the spanking, causing her to sprain her wrist as she fell. Parker had previously punched through a bedroom door and threw a kitchen chair at the table while the couple argued about the boy’s misbehavior.
