Dad charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 28-day-old daughter (Abbeville, Louisiana)

Dad ADOLPHO IRACHETA JR. is facing 1st-degree murder charges in the death of his infant daughter, who was only 28-days old. Basically, Daddy Dearest battered and shook the baby to death, who was initially hospitalized in an unresponsive condition with a fractured skull, bleeding behind the eyes, and bruised and fractured ribs.

Note that Daddy is in the highest risk group there is for infant violence: a father with a history of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and DRUG ABUSE. These types should NEVER be allowed around babies or young children.

Why was this child put at risk? Was Daddy babysitting while the battered mama was forced to work to support him? Did he have visitation, or God forbid, custody? The context is not clarified here.

An Abbeville man is being held on a one million dollar bond accused of shaking his infant daughter to death.

Thirty one year old Adolfo Iracheta, Junior is facing a charge of first degree murder in the death of the baby, who was only 28 days old when she died.

Police were called in to investigate when the baby was hospitalized in critical condition unresponsive and bleeding out of her nose.

Iracheta told authorities that he felt he hurt his baby but it was during a failed CPR attempt. But, an autopsy revealed the babies injuries extended far beyond a failed CPR attempt. The child suffered from bruised and fractured ribs, bleeding behind the eyes, and a fracture on her skull.

The cause of death was determined to be shaken baby syndrome and blunt force trauma.

Iracheta remains in the Vermilion Parish Jail and according to police he has a history of domestic violence charges as well as charges for possession and distribution of drugs as well.
