ALBANY -- A 44-year-old Coeymans man was sentenced to 19 years in prison for shooting his teenage son at their home last March, killing him.

Glenn Vosburgh pleaded guilty in August to felony first-degree manslaughter. He admitted he was heavily intoxicated inside their home when he shot his 18-year-old son Craig in the back with a loaded Luger, 9-mm semi-automatic pistol at their Route 9W home on March 16th, according to Albany County District Attorney David Soares.

Vosburgh will also serve five years of post-release supervision.

"From all indications, this young man chose to live with his father in order to help him through some difficult times," DA Soares said in a press release announcing the sentence. "But in the end, the very man who was a part of giving Craig life was responsible for taking it away."
