Stepdad pleads not guilty to sex charges

A long-haul trucker pleaded not guilty this afternoon to charges of continuous sexual abuse, forcible rape and lewd acts upon a child related to repeated attacks on his two young stepdaughters.

Tony Slone, 43, of Phelan, was arraigned at San Bernardino County Superior Court in Victorville. He was extradited Sunday from Orange County, N.Y., where he was arrested June 4 while on a route.

Slone, a convicted sex offender, is accused of raping his stepdaughters beginning in 2005, when they were 13 and 9. He fathered a now 15-month-old child with the older victim, prosecutors said.

The abuse came to light on June 2, when a friend of the now 16-year-old victim at Silverado High School in Victorville found sexually explicit text messages on her cell phone. The messages were from a sender titled "DAD."

The victims then told investigators that Slone raped them numerous times while taking them on trips in his big-rig.

The girls' mother, Anita Slone, has pleaded guilty to child abuse for failing to report the crimes.
Tony Slone is being jailed at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $1 million bail.
