Father accused of rape in MP; baby boy housed in jail along with him

Morena (MP): A local court has directed a man, accused of raping a minor girl, that he should take care of her child while being lodged in the jail.
The boy, who is now six months old, was born to the girl after she was allegedly abducted and raped by Vikas Singh, the accused.
Singh kept the girl in confinement at Jeemni village in the district before the police arrested him and rescued the girl on November 27.
Public prosecutor Mahendra Kulshestra said that on November 28, when Vikas was produced before the sessions court, the court remanded him in police custody and the girl was sent to a shelter home.
However, as she is a minor, under the law the boy can not be handed over to her as yet, said the prosecutor.
Therefore, the court ordered Vikas to take care of the child while in jail.
Morena jail's chief warden Dattaram Maurya said that the jail administration had made all necessary arrangements to take care of the child.

Dad holds 2-year-old daughter hostage in police standoff then abducts her; police indifferent (Topeka, Kansas)
Shawnee County, Kansas is a horror for mothers and children. Notice that this couple did not live together. I see no evidence they were ever even married, and whether they are still a couple is not clear despite reports that this is her "boyfriend."
Nevertheless, as is typical these days, the mother DID NOT have full custody even though her daughter is practically a baby. Nevertheless, she is "involving" dad TREVOR HUGHES, just as mothers are REQUIRED to do these days unless they want to lose custody and have their parental rights severed.
So Daddy locks Mom out of HER HOME (not his, not theirs) with the baby inside. The police arrive, but Dad has managed to take off with the daughter. Notice the police attitudes here. They don't take this abduction seriously at all - even after more than 12 hours have passed with no sign of the baby. No Amber Alert, no nothing At minimum, we know he's verbally abusive and controlling. Even the usually clueless neighbors managed to detect that.
Typical of the police indifference to the safety of women and children. Especially the Topeka Police.

Topeka Police still searching for man, child involved in Saturday standoff
Standoff involving man, child ends when police find home empty

Topeka police continued to search early Sunday for a man involved in a domestic disturbance Saturday afternoon that led to an hourslong standoff outside what turned out to be an empty house.
As of 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Topeka Police had yet to find the man or the child he allegedly took from the home, said Lt. Scott Gilchrist. Police also weren’t ready to release their names, he said.
“We’re still trying to locate him and the child,” he said.
Police initially were called to a home in the 2600 block of S.W. Valley Brook Lane, just north of the Crestview Community Center, about 12:30 p.m. after a woman reported her boyfriend was inside her home with their nearly 2-year-old daughter, said Lt. Shane Lind.
When a response team entered the home about 4 p.m., they didn’t find the suspect or child.
“It turns out there was no one in the house,” Lind said.
Lind said there were no signs of foul play, but authorities at that time were determining whether the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert had been met.
“We will take a look at that as a serious possibility,” he said.
But as of 9 p.m., Sgt. Jay Junghans said police weren’t considering the incident an abduction and didn’t believe the girl was in any danger. However, he said, the man and child hadn’t been located, and police continued to search.
Police wouldn’t confirm the names of the man and child. However, Kansas First News identified the missing man as Trevor Hughes and his daughter as Ambree Jo.
Earlier, Lind said the child’s mother lives at the address, and her boyfriend doesn’t currently live there but frequently comes over. The child’s mother doesn’t have sole custody of the child, and she told police the child’s father is involved in the girl’s life.
Tonya Guedry and Brian Hoss, who live in a nearby home, said they heard the couple begin arguing about 9 a.m., and the woman had left about 10 a.m. They said police began arriving after noon.
Hoss said he and Guedry weren’t well acquainted with the couple but had heard them arguing before. “He likes to yell threats a lot,” he said.
Lind said the girl’s mother reported her boyfriend had locked her out of her home and wouldn’t let her back in. She claimed he was in the house with their daughter.
Negotiators tried to make contact with the man who was believed to be inside the home, even attempting to get a phone into the house to communicate with the man, who Lind said doesn’t have a cellphone.
Police also initially had information that the man may have barricaded the door of the residence.
However, police now don’t believe the doors were barricaded, and Lind said the man could easily have slipped outside the home while the woman was calling police from the front yard.
Because the man doesn’t own a cellphone or vehicle, Lind said, detectives were trying to determine where he may have gone. He said the man has family in Topeka.
Lind said detectives also were talking to neighbors to determine whether the couple’s daughter was with the man.

A star Brazilian goalkeeper jailed for 22 years for ordering the kidnap and murder of his girlfriend, who was dismembered and fed to his pet dogs, has been released to play football.
Bruno Fernandes de Souza, 28, confessed to the horrific crimes last March after his ex-girlfriend Eliza Samudio was murdered.
But despite his confession and prison sentence, the goalkeeper was allowed to sign a five-year contract with Montes Claros of the Campeonato Mineiro, upi.com reported.
It means Bruno will be allowed to leave prison on day release, accompanied by a police escort, to train with the team and play in matches.
The former Flamengo captain is said to have wanted his ex-partner dead so he could avoid paying child support after she gave birth to his love child.
Her dead body was allegedly fed to Bruno's pet rottweilers.
Bruno, who was tipped to play for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup, was sentenced to 22 years and three months for the murder.
He has been behind bars since 2010 and is now able to take advantage of a provision in Brazilian law that allows a prisoner more freedom after three or four years, so long as they have shown good behaviour.
Montes Claros club president, Ville Mocellin, confirmed the controversial decision.
'We want to give an opportunity to the man Bruno,' he told OTempo.
'For him, it is a chance to return to play. To the club, he is an athlete who can strengthen the team and a way to invest in the social side.'
Judge Marixa Fabiane Rodrigues said the goalkeeper, who played for Brazil's biggest team Flamengo, had 'meticulously calculated' Ms Samudio's execution.
He told the court in Contagem, south-east Brazil, that the footballer was 'twisted' and had 'instilled in his personality a total misunderstanding of values.'
He added: 'Bruno believed that, by making the body disappear, he could ensure total impunity.'
The former player had previously denied any knowledge of what happened to the 25-year-old, but told a court last March how his best friend Luiz Henrique Romao had paid someone to kill her.
He admitted that although he hadn't ordered his former lover to be killed, he had 'accepted' it.
The goalkeeper is accused of planning Ms Samudio's abduction and murder with eight others including his wife Dayane, another former lover, a cousin and former policeman Marcos Santos.
It has been alleged that he watched as Santos tortured her and then helped him to chop her body.
Parts of the woman's corpse are alleged to have been fed to Bruno's pet rottweillers, while the rest was buried in concrete.
At an earlier trial, Romao was found guilty of Ms Samudio's murder and jailed for 15 years. Santos will be put on trial next month.
Fernandes, who before his arrest had been linked with a multi-million pound transfer to AC Milan, has always claimed Ms Samudio was alive and had left the country. Her body has never been found.
But he told the court in Contagem that his cousin, Jorge Rosa, who had witnessed the murder, had told him what had happened.
He claimed that after kidnapping Ms Samudio, Romao had taken her to a house in Belo Horizonte where hired killer Santos was waiting.
He said: 'There he held her hands and asked [Romao] to tie them in front of her, and put a tie around her neck.
'And [Romao] even kicked Eliza's legs away. That's what Jorge told me. And that they had chopped up her body, that they had thrown her body for the dogs to eat.'
The former star admitted that he feels 'guilty' for her death despite insisting that he never ordered the killing.
Ms Samudio, who had previously claimed to have had an affair with Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, met Bruno at a footballers' party in May 2009 and fell pregnant by accident, it is claimed.
The goalkeeper demanded she have an abortion but she went ahead with the pregnancy, instead insisting that he assume paternity of the child.
Before her disappearance on June 4, 2010, Ms Samudio had approached police claiming she had been held captive by Bruno and his associates, who forced her to take an illegal abortion drug.
Bruno allegedly put a gun to her head and told her: 'You don't know who I am or what I'm capable of - I'm from the favela.'
The baby, Bruninho, was born in February 2010, but the player refused to acknowledge he was the father.
Prosecutors allege that Bruno ordered Ms Samudio's murder after she told him she would take legal action to force him to pay child support.
In a statement to police, the footballer's teenage cousin Jorge Rosa claimed he and Romao picked up Ms Samudio and her son from a Rio de Janeiro hotel after she accepted an invitation by the footballer to talk about the paternity claims.
He said they drove her 220 miles to a property in Belo Horizonte which Bruno and his wife used as a weekend retreat, where she was held captive for six days.
Ms Samudio was then allegedly handed over to former military policeman Santos, who committed 'barbaric tortures' on her before strangling her to death with a neck tie in front of her four-month-old son.
Santos, who was allegedly paid £8,000 to murder her, played loud music on a stereo to drown out the woman's screams, it is claimed.
Edson Moreira, a detective who investigated the case, said: 'His acts were almost impossible to describe without breaking down - images from the worst nightmare you could imagine.'
Police later found Ms Samudio's four-month-old baby in a Belo Horizonte slum, alleged to have been abandoned there by Bruno's wife Dayane. DNA tests later proved the footballer's paternity. The child is now being looked after by Ms Samudio's mother. .

Judge praises dad with history of domestic violence as a "responsible parent"--despite being found guilty of kidnapping and assaulting his 15-month-old son and son's mother (New Zealand)
Ladies and Gentlemen: This is almost a parody of the standard domestic violence/child abuse news story.
Start with the headline. Makes it sound like Daddy just forgot to fasten Junior in his car seat, doesn't it? All while driving just a wee bit too fast.
Not even close.
Dad CHARLIE NGAPERA is a freaking total menace.
He is no longer in a relationship with his son's mother (note language about "former" partner), and yet he has the freaking nerve to accuse her of "seeing other men." What, jackass. You own her for life now?
Next:
1) He grabs the mom by the throat, puts her in a head lock and threatens to use a butcher's knife on her.
2) He abducts her 15-month-old son--apparently after Mom flees for her life.
3) At some point, Mom and Dad meet up again, and she confronts him over the abduction. She tries to get the child out of the car, but is not successful.
4) Mom supposedly jumps in the car as Dad is speeding away.
5) Dad proceeds to drive like a total f**king lunatic at high rates of speed, because he's all angry you know. The whole time the poor baby is on Daddy's knee or the center console. He refuses to hand the baby over to the mother.
5) Dad runs a stop sign yelling "watch this." Total Daddy Drama.
6) Dad threatens Mom that he intends to take her and the child "down with him."
7) When the car stops, Mom manages to jump out of the car. Dad chases her, grabs her by the hair, and pulls her back in the car. Apparently that doesn't work, so he tries to force her into the trunk. But she escapes.
8) Daddy takes off again, and throws the baby from the driver's seat to the passenger's seat. Baby suffers "minor" injuries.
Daddy later caught and arrested.
Daddy eventually goes to trial, and now we have the Idiot Judge. Check this out:
Judge Mackintosh acknowledged that Ngapera acted out of character. He had just one previous conviction for assaulting a female in 2007.
What the f***! Just one other conviction for assault? So Daddy acted "out of character"? Well, if you figure in all the times he wasn't convicted, or somebody was afraid to press charges, I bet we're looking at a guy who was acting VERY MUCH IN CHARACTER.
Then Judge Moron, er, Mackintosh, praises this menace as a "responsible parent"!!!
The mind boggles. Of course, Daddy's family are total enablers too. So surprised....

Father jailed for high-speed chase with son unrestrained

A man who led police on a car chase with his 15-month-old son unrestrained in the car has been sent to jail.
Charlie Ngapera, 32, was sentenced in the Napier District Court today to two years seven months in jail. He was found guilty of eight charges including kidnap, assaulting a child, assaulting a female, threatening to kill, reckless driving and theft.
On the morning of August 2 Ngapera, understood to be a Black Power member, accused his former partner, Tessa Rollinson, of seeing other men. He grabbed her throat, put her in a head lock and threatened to use a butcher's knife on her, the police summary said.
She fled the house and arranged to meet a friend, Natasha Brocklebank, at the Napier police station to lay charges.
While they were waiting, Ngapera pulled up outside in his car. Brocklebank went out to confront him and tried to get the child out of the car. She jumped in as it drove away.
Ngapera drove at speeds of up to 180kmh while the infant sat either on his knee or on the centre console. He refused to let Brocklebank take the child from him.
Ngapera shouted "watch this" as he sped past a stop sign and through an intersection, making no attempt to stop, the summary said. He told Brocklebank he intended to take her and his son "down with him".
Brocklebank managed to jump out when the car stopped briefly. Ngapera chased her, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back to the car. He then tried to put her in the boot but she escaped.
At the sound of police sirens, he got back in the car and flung the child violently from the driver's seat to the passenger's seat.
He drove off, leaving Brocklebank behind. He drove through an orchard gate in Whakatu before running away, carrying his son. He then tried to disguise himself by putting on a hooded jacket from an unlocked lorry cab.
By this time, police had placed cordons around the Whakatu area and Ngapera was found in a car after asking for a ride to a nearby address.
The car owner said she was worried for the baby's safety and recognised the address, so put the baby in her car seat and gave the man a lift.
The child suffered only minor injuries and was reunited with his mother shortly after.
Ngapera pleaded guilty last month and wrote a letter of apology which was given to Judge Bridget Mackintosh. He handed up a second letter today.
Judge Mackintosh acknowledged that Ngapera acted out of character. He had just one previous conviction for assaulting a female in 2007. Judge Mackintosh said Ngapera was generally a responsible parent having cared for his two sons - letters from health professionals and the boy's school backed this up.
Judge Mackintosh said it was an appalling state of affairs that bought Ngapera before the court. In addition to the jail sentence, she disqualified him from driving for 12 months and issued a three strikes warning. The disqualification will be served while he is behind bars.
Family called out in support as Ngapera left court.

Dad, while out on bail for kidnapping and rape charges, chokes and slashes 16-year-old son with a knife; then makes bail AGAIN (Englewood, New Jersey)
He's out on bail AGAIN???
Back in 2010, this guy was arrested on kidnapping and sexual assault charges. Oh, and there was a big police standoff too. That was when the police came to his house after Daddy started firing his handgun as the victim was fleeing. Nevertheless, he got bail.
Now dad SISA BUTU (aka JAMES MCDOWELL) chokes his 16-year-old son, and slashes him with a knife. And because we coddle violent daddies, doncha know, he's out on bail again.
What happens with these guys too often it that they eventually kill somebody, and law enforcement will tsk tsk and moan about what a terrible tragedy it all was. WHEN THEY COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT BY KEEP THESE SH**s of the street to start with.
Now the victim is in hiding. Why do victims have to do the hiding while the criminals roam free? And what happened to this boy's mother?

Englewood father charged with slashing son, 16

A 52-year-old Englewood man awaiting trial for rape was arrested by city detectives today on charges of choking and slashing his 16-year-old son during a fight at their home.
Police became aware of the incident yesterday, after the boy went to Englewood Medical Center for treatment, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said.
Sisa Butu — also known as James McDowell — grabbed a kitchen knife and began chocking the teen during an argument Wednesday night, Torell said.
The boy fought back and was severely cut on his hand, the captain said.
Butu, who was charged with aggravated assault, weapons possession and child endangerment, made $75,000 bail while still at the city lockup this afternoon.
A judge issued a “No Contact” order and the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified, Torell said.
The boy is staying at a safe location outside of Englewood, he said.
Butu made headlines in September 2010 during what other media reported as a standoff.
Police said Boto sexually assaulted a Pennsylvania acquaintance who came to see him because he’d been despondent and ended up fleeing his house when he got sick and vomited.
As she did, they said, Butu fired a shot from a handgun, bringing city police and a tactical squad that surrounded the house and tried calling him for a few hours before tossing in cannisters of gas.
The chemical agent awoke Butu, who apparently had passed out sometime after the 45-year-old woman fled and called police on her cellphone.
He was charged with aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, making terroristic threats and illegal handgun possession and indicted in later December of that year.
Butu has remained free on bail since being released 10 days after the incident.

Dad abducts mom, 8-month-old son at knife point, assaults mom (Campbelltown, Australia)
Damn right the police had a right to be concerned for the baby, even though dad STEVEN HUME had (allegedly) never threatened the baby before--"just" Mom. But guys like this graduate into child abuse/child murder all the time--once they realize that the loss of her child will hurt the mother worse than any single bruise to her own body. That's how these abuser daddies roll.
As it was, after abducting the mother and baby and knife point, this sh** beat the 16-year-old mother and dumped her at a highway rest area. Then he took off with the baby alone, until the baby was recovered returned to the police by one of Daddy's relatives. The loving daddy--no doubt just wanting quality time doncha know!!!--is still missing.

Abducted baby handed in but father on run

An eight-month-old baby abducted by his father at knife-point from the boy's teenage mother has been handed into police.
Baby Zhaiden Mifsud was handed into Campbelltown police station just before 5pm on Friday by a relative of his 24-year-old father Steven Hume.
It followed a 20-hour search for the boy after Mr Hume abducted his ex-girlfriend and the boy from a home in Chester Hill on Thursday night.
Police said while Zhaiden had been found safe Mr Hume remained on the run. Paramedics were checking on the baby's health.
Zhaiden's abduction prompted a day-long search in bushland on Sydney's south-western outskirts after the Toyota Camry Mr Hume had been driving was found abandoned, crashed into a tree on Avon Dam Road at Bargo at 6.50am on Friday.
Police and volunteers attached to the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, assisted by the dog squad and rescue helicopter, combed the surrounding area.
The search effort had been exhausted only shortly before news filtered through that Zhaiden had been handed in at the police station almost 40 kilometres away.
Police had earlier expressed great concern for the welfare of both Mr Hume and Zhaiden, although they said Mr Hume had not made any threats to harm himself or the boy.
Mr Hume, who was the subject of an apprehended violence order and known to police, at 8.30pm on Thursday had forced his way into the Kenthurst Place home where his former girlfriend Casey Mifsud lived with her father Marco.
He grabbed the 16-year-old mother and their child and forced them into the back of the Camry.
It is alleged Mr Hume then pulled over in a rest area on the Hume Highway at Douglas Park and assaulted Ms Mifsud, dumping her there.
The baby's grandfather, Marco, made an appeal on 2GB's breakfast radio for Mr Hume to return the baby.
''Bring the child back safely. Don't do anything stupid, you know?'' he said.
''I hope he doesn't do anything silly, that's all.''
Mr Hume is described as being of caucasian appearance, 165-175 centimetres tall, thin build with brown hair, and last seen in a blue jumper and green track pants. He has tattoos on his arms and chest.

Dad with on-demand visitation rights to infant son kidnaps the baby, baby's aunt; threatens to "hurt them" (Phoenix, Arizona)
Yet another reason you cannot negotiate with criminals and terrorists.
Dad CHRISTOPHER VERLAND AYERS already had a very sweet custody deal. He could see the baby WHENEVER HE WANTED. WHENEVER HE LIKED. This is what the fathers' rights people tell us is good, right? And it's certainly more than many non-custodial moms get. Daddy's happy, right?
NOT AT ALL. Not enought power and control, see. The whole point of being a criminal is shoving other people around and hurting them, not cooperation. So takes off with the baby, and refuses to give him back--apparently becauses he was all pissy about something. This isn't the only time Daddy where has abducted somebody, either. He apparently pulled the same sh** on AN ADULT (the baby's aunt) and threatened to hurt both her and the baby. He then "demanded" that he be allowed to see the baby's mother. This report (http://ktar.com/22/1555905/Police-search-for-dad-accused-of-kidnapping) also says he wanted on assault charges.
This is what we get for catering to batterers and abusive fathers. They just up the ante and make more demands. They just get more and more entitled and irrational, and their sh** just gets increasingly more extreme.

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police have located a man who allegedly kidnapped his 1-year-old son.
According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson, Christopher Verland Ayers, 21, took the little boy after arguing with his ex-girlfriend, the baby's mother, late Tuesday afternoon. Investigators were concerned that the baby, also named Christopher, could be in danger. Thompson said Ayers made threats to hurt himself and his son.Thompson said Ayers was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and his son is safe and with police. No further details have been released at this time.
The pair was last seen at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the area of 33rd Avenue just south of Thomas Road.
Little Christopher's grandmother, Tyrell Gray, was the last person to speak with Ayers before he vanished with his son.
According to Gray, Ayers and his ex-girlfriend have an agreement that allows him to see Christopher whenever he likes. She said Ayers picked up Christopher on Saturday and had refused to give him back.
Things came to a head Tuesday when Ayers demanded to see his ex.
"It appears that the older Christopher Ayers had actually kidnapped several family members -- the sister of the mother of the baby," Thompson said, explaining that Ayers threatened her, as well.
The boy's aunt was later released unharmed.
Gray says Ayers owns guns and is a violent man. She believes he's capable of everything -- even hurting his own child. Still, she tried to reason with Ayers Tuesday afternoon.
"His main focus was, 'I'm going to hurt her [his ex-girlfriend] because she hurt me,'" Gray explained to 3TV's Javier Soto. "That's his mind frame. If she hurt him, he's going to do something to hurt her."

Dad kept mom, youngest child captive in car, threatened to kill them (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota)
The police here were freaking unbelievable. They think nothing of endangering the lives of women and children. Sent dad CHIA VANG on his way because the order of protection wasn't valid yet? WTF?

Father vowed to kill mom and youngest child as they drove around the metro area for six to seven hours, charges say.
A Brooklyn Park man kept the mother of his three children captive in a car for six to seven hours Wednesday, circling the Twin Cities while threatening to kill her and their youngest child, authorities say.
At one point, the woman pressed her face against the window and mouthed "Help me!" to another driver, according to charges filed Friday against Chia Vang, 27.
He is scheduled to appear Monday in Ramsey County District Court, charged with one count of kidnapping, two counts of terroristic threats and one of methamphetamine possession.
The victim, identified as M.V., told police that Vang was her ex-boyfriend; he said they were married in the Hmong tradition.
According to the charges, M.V. had stayed in domestic-abuse shelters after Vang allegedly head-butted and choked her in their home last week.
The woman, 29, asked her nephew to pick her up to run errands Wednesday, and as they rode with the couple's two oldest children, they noticed Vang following them in her car. He had learned of her whereabouts by looking at the caller ID on her mother's phone, he later told police.
The woman called 911 from a St. Paul market, and police arrived to speak with Vang. Police sent him and the couple's youngest child away on foot after learning that an order for protection that the mother had sought was not yet valid, authorities say.
Vang reappeared, threw the couple's youngest child into the mother's car, blocked in the nephew's vehicle and forced M.V. into the car.
During the drive, he threatened to pick up the other two children to "kill them all in a car crash," the complaint states.
He was arrested in Washington County. M.V. and the child were not hurt.
