Dad charged with assaulting daughter during "drunken rage" (Fruitland, Maryland)

Dad HENRY ALEXANDER CUFFEE was in a "drunken rage" when he "allegedly" assaulted his daughter, injuring her head, face, and neck. The daughter said her father had threatened to kill her as well. All because she had been suspended from school? Hmm. This is just a guess. But do you think that daughter's "alleged" problems in school might have something to do with having a rage-aholic boozer for a father? And where is Mom in all this? Is there a mom in this household?

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

FRUITLAND, Md.- Authorities say a Fruitland man is facing child abuse and related charges after being accused of physically attacking his daughter during a drunken rage.

Henry Alexander Cuffee, 38, is charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, second-degree child abuse and disorderly conduct.

Fruitland police say that at around 10:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 1, officers responded to a reported assault in progress on North Dulany Avenue. Upon arrival, officers say they observed a juvenile female running from a yard where a crowd had gathered due to yelling and screaming.

Police say Cuffee, who was visibly intoxicated, was yelling about his daughter having been suspended from school. Officers say they contacted Cuffee's daughter and observed that she had some injuries to her head, face and neck.

According to police, the child related to officers that her father was trying to kill her. Police say the girl stated Cuffee had choked her, struck her in the head, pulled her braids out and threw her to the ground.

Several witnesses attempted to intervene to protect the child and confirmed the events described by the victim, according to investigators.

Cuffee was then arrested on the aforementioned charges and locked up in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.
