Registered sex offender dad charged with assault for beating 7-year-old son (Chehalis, Washington)
Holy crap. Check out the rap sheet for dad PATRICK DUNHAM. We're lucky this POS didn't murder this child. Registered sex offender, convictions for 2nd-degree assault, RAPE OF A CHILD in the first degree. Why the hell was this guy allowed anywhere near this child? What did anybody think would happen? It seems to me this child should be thoroughly checked for sexual abuse, in addition to all the other weird torturous stuff that Daddy devised. Then you need to get this guy totally out of the picture. Serious jail time, no custody rights, no visitation.

CHEHALIS: Man charged in child assault case
THE OLYMPIAN • Published May 05, 2010
A Chehalis man has been charged with assaulting a child after he allegedly beat his 7-year-old son with two spatulas and a stick, causing severe bruising.
Patrick Dunham, 45, will be in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday for an arraignment after an initial appearance last week.
Dunham was arrested April 28.
According to charging documents filed by the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office:
The child’s mother reported the alleged abuse after she said Dunham admitted to spanking the child with a spatula. The sheriff’s office investigated the case after a referral from Child Protective Services.
The mother said Dunham made her son run up and down hills several times, drink apple cider vinegar and sit alone on Christmas as forms of punishment.
On April 27, detectives met with the boy, who said his father gives him bruises for lying. The child also said that he was made to run up and down an alley without socks. Detectives viewed extensive bruising on the child’s buttocks and legs.
On April 28, Dunham allegedly said, “I knew I should have given him up for adoption” as he was being arrested.
Dunham, a registered sex offender, has previous convictions of second-degree assault, failing to register and rape of a child in the first degree.
