Dad charged with child endangerment, drug charges (Malden, Missouri)

Guess daddy JEREMY WADE EARNHEART was so busy manufacturing meth, that he just didn't notice that his "small child" was sitting in the road, apparently surrounded by a pack of dogs. Not a word here on the child's mother.

A 21-year-old Malden man is facing four felony charges following an investigation by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department earlier this month.

Jeremy Wade Earnheart, of rural Malden, has been charged with the Class C felony of endangering the welfare of a child, the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance, the Class B felony of manufacture or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and the Class B felony of manufacture or produce and possession of drug paraphernalia after a Malden resident found a small child sitting in the roadway.

"The investigation into these charges was initiated by a Malden resident who was driving down Bernard Road when he observed a pack of dogs," said Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder. "As he drew closer to the dogs, he noticed a small child sitting in the road."

Holder said the Malden Police Department was notified, who then contacted the his office.

"The child's father was located and the investigation resulted in the charges being made against the Malden man," Holder said. "Drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a part of a meth lab were located inside of the Earnheart residence."

Earnheart is currently being held at the Dunklin County Justice Center on a $150,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Dunklin County Circuit Court on today, Tuesday, April 13.

According to Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen P. Sokoloff, Earnheart is facing up to seven years in the state penitentiary for each of the Class C felonies and five to 15 years for each of the Class B felonies.

The investigation was conducted by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department and the Malden Police Department.
