Dad, son jailed on attempted murder (Yucca Valley, California)

Yup, this is why all daddies, no matter what, must play a role in their children's lives. Because if it hadn't been for Dad, maybe Junior wouldn't have fallen into such wonderful father-son bonding activities as forced entry into a residence, home invasion robbery, kidnapping, and attempted murder.

Father, son jailed on attempted murder

YUCCA VALLEY — Two men were jailed Sunday night on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and home invasion robbery in the 5500 block of Santa Fe Trail.

According to information from the sheriff’s department, Gregory Gene Lewis, 56, of Yucca Valley, and his son James Allen Lewis, 30, of Desert Hot Springs, forced entry into a residence, pistol-whipping and then dragging a woman outside.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene as the suspects were forcing the victim into the bed of their pickup truck.

Gregory Lewis was arrested at the scene while James Lewis ran but was arrested after a short search, deputies said.

A loaded handgun was found at the scene.The victim was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center for medical treatment. Both suspects were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with no bail.
