Dad charged with beating 7-month-old son (Bridgeton, New Jersey)

BRIDGETON - Police on Saturday charged an East Avenue man with abusing his 7-month-old son.
The alleged crime occurred Friday night at around 9 p.m., at which time the man also reportedly threatened his girlfriend while locking her in a bedroom, according to police.
Police called to the East Avenue home Saturday morning around 11:10 a.m. found the infant had bruises to his right thigh and buttock.
The bruise on the child's thigh matched a hand, and on the buttock, a belt.
The child's mother told police the father had beat the child with both his hand and a belt.
Daniel Ramirez, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal restraint, terroristic threats, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
Bail on those charges was set at $50,000.
A suspected illegal immigrant, Ramirez was held without bail on a detainer issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
