Babysitting dad gets 1 year in jail for fracturing skull of 1-month-old daughter (Lincoln, Nebraska)

Dad RYAN WAGENER has been sentenced to 1 year in jail for assaulting his 1-month-old daughter. Daddy was "watching" her when she suffered a skull fracture and various bruises.

Nebraska man sentenced for 'negligent' child abuse

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln man has been sentenced to a year in jail for abusing his infant daughter.

Ryan Wagener was sentenced to the maximum term on Tuesday in Lancaster County District Court for a misdemeanor count of negligent child abuse.

Wagener had pleaded guilty to the charge in July.

Wagener's arrest affidavit says his 1-month-old daughter was taken to a Lincoln emergency room on Sept. 20, 2007, for a bump on her head.

Doctors say the infant had a suffered a skull fracture and bruises on her lower thighs, knees and chest. Further examination revealed three healing broken ribs.

Police say the injuries occurred when Wagener was watching the infant.
