Dad arrested for assaulting 10-year-old daughter with "cattle stick" (Smith County, Tennessee)

Wonder if this is a custody/visitation situation. Notice that there is no mention of the mother, and that there is specifically no mention of her also "staying" at the home of the paternal grandparents.

Smith County father arrested for allegedly abusing daughter

SMITH COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Smith County father was arrested and charged for allegedly abusing his daughter.

Joe Green Jr., 33, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with one count of aggravated child abuse.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation started investigating Green at the request of the 15th District Attorney General Tom Thompson.

During their investigation, authorities learned that Green reportedly struck his 10-year-old daughter multiple times with a cattle stick while staying with her at his parents’ residence in Pleasant Shade.

The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, April 4.

Green was booked into the Smith County Jail on $15,000 bond.
