Babysitting dad charged with murder of 5-month-old son (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Unfortunately, we are seeing this basic story with a nauseating regularity. A working mom, a babysitting (unemployed?) dad who apparently got "frustrated." Result in this case: dad NICHOLAS EASTER has been charged with murder and neglect in the death of his 5-month-old son. The baby died from blunt force trauma.

A father is behind bars for the death of his five-month-old son.

Metro Police say Nicholas Easter, 20, of Indianapolis, faces charges of murder and neglect of a dependent in the March 14 death of his son, Nygell.

The father told investigators he put the child on a bed in a car seat at his home in the 6660 block of Fairway Avenue, but the baby fell onto the floor.

The coroner ruled the death as blunt force trauma.

According to a probable cause affidavit, pathologists determined that the child's injuries were not consistant with falling off the bed.

The child's mother was at work when the baby died.

She has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
