Baby's injuries send dad to prison (Litchfield, Connecticut)

Another mealy-mouthed new article that totally manages to talk around the issues. "When Mark Lee's child was born..." Huh? Men don't give birth. "Was born" is a neat grammatical trick to avoid dealing with the fact that a MOTHER gave birth to this child. There is no evidence that a mother was in this situation at all, except, maybe as a surrogate.

And guess what? As soon as Daddy MARK LEE starts playing Mr. Mom, he screws up royally. Literally from the time of this baby's birth, he can't manage to feed the baby or keep from injuring the baby (the baby had cracked ribs at 5 WEEKS of age).

So given that this appears to be a single or custodial dad, why isn't he identified as such? Why is it politically acceptable to bash single mothers while shielding single fathers from the same scrutiny, even when warranted?

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

Infant's injuries send father to prison
BY BRIGITTE RUTHMAN REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN

LITCHFIELD— When Mark Lee's child was born in October 2007, he weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Five weeks later, the malnourished baby boy weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

By the time the infant arrived in an emergency room, Senior Assistant State's Attorney Dawn Gallo told Judge Vincent Roche on Tuesday in Superior Court, doctors also noted that he suffered from broken bones.

An investigation was launched by police and the state's Department of Children and Families. Lee was arrested in 2008 after insisting he didn't abuse the child, and planned to take his case to trial beginning Wednesday.

Instead, the 21-year-old Winsted man admitted on Tuesday that he became impatient with the child and that feedings were irregular. In exchange for his guilty pleas, he will be sentenced June 3 to 14 years, suspended after 10 years in prison under the terms of a plea agreement to avoid trial on a nonsexual risk of injury charge.
