Dad charged with beating 14-month-old son (Lansing, Michigan)

Lansing Father Charged with Abusing Infant Son

A 25-year-old father in Lansing is facing felony charges after police say he caused several injuries to his 14-month-old son.
Robert Lee Nevins was arraigned on Child Abuse and Interfering with Electronical Communications early Tuesday--- both of which are felonies.
Police were called to a hospital around 7pm Monday in regards to a Child Abuse/Assault report. Investigators learned the child had been physically abused by Nevins, his biological father. Officers tracked Nevins down to his place of employment and arrested him.
The 14-month-old child is said to be in stable condition, with several injuries to his body. No charges have been filed against the child's mother at this time.
Nevins is due back in court for a pre-exam conference on Tuesday, February 24. We will be tracking this story for you, so stay tuned.
