A drunken New Port Richey, FL father who almost drowned his 14-month-old baby Saturday night, was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of aggravated child abuse.
Kevin Geddes, 39, of 4506 Floramar Terrace was told by a Pasco Co. judge this morning, that if he was able to make the $7,500 bail, he could not possess or consume "a drop" of alcohol.
cfnews13.com reported that the father was "very inebriated" Saturday night while swinging the boy in a yard adjacent to a canal near their New Port Richey home. In his drunken state, Geddes fell into the canal at approximately 7:15 p.m., and took his 14-month-old baby son in with him when he fell.
Witnesses said the boy appeared to be drowning, but Geddes refused any help.
A neighbor finally jumped into the water and rescued the child.
The baby was unconscious after being pulled from the water.
