Dad charged with murder in arson death of 7-year-old son (Bethany, Missouri)

Dad is identified as TONY R. KING. Was there a mother in this home? Doesn't sound like it. What happened to this boy's mother? This is an important question to ask when the media mentions a violent and/or unstable father who "allegedly" killed his own children--and Mom is mysteriously "missing" from the story.

BETHANY, Mo. A northwest Missouri man whose son was found dead in their burned-out mobile home has been charged with murder and arson.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that 28-year-old Tony R. King, of Bethany, was arrested and charged today by Harrison County authorities.

Firefighters responding to the blaze Wednesday morning found the body of King’s son, 7-year-old Jeremiah Lamm, in a bedroom. The Harrison County coroner said today the cause of death is still being investigated.

King was being held in the Harrison County Jail on $250,000 bond. He’s charged with first-degree murder, child abuse and second-degree arson.

Online court records did not list a lawyer for King, and no phone number could be found for his listed address.
