BEAVER FALLS -- The father of an 8-month-old infant who was seriously injured on Jan. 5 has been charged with felony aggravated assault, according to Beaver Falls Police.
Brian Patrick Donavich Jr., 22, whose last known address was 392 Morado Dwellings, has also been charged with three misdemeanors: simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person, according to police.
Charges were filed Monday, and a warrant issued for Donavich's arrest, according to Beaver Falls police Chief Charles Jones. As of Monday afternoon, he had not yet been apprehended.
Jones said the police investigation was coordinated with officials at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, who determined the infant's injuries "were the result of Mr. Donavich's care."
Police and emergency medical personnel were summoned to Morado Dwellings Thursday to tend to the infant, who was unresponsive and had difficulty breathing.
The child remains in intensive care at Children's Hospital, according to Jones.
