Dad charged with attempted 1st-degree murder for shooting son in back (Livingson Parish, Louisiana)
Dad is identified as GEORGE W. HARDY JR. Notice that the dad is also charged with child desertion. Sounds like no adult women were living in this home--just Daddy and his adult son. And then there was the 2-year-old--the one who was deserted. Where did the 2-year old come from? Was this the son's kid?

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A Livingston Parish man has been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and other charges after shooting his son.
The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. Friday in an Albany mobile home park on Strawberry Lane.
Deputies found Scott J. Hardy, 36, shot in the back. An Acadian ambulance took Hardy to a Hammond area hospital with critical injuries. He was later transferred to a New Orleans area hospital.
The victim's father, George W. Hardy, Jr., 54, was taken into custody by LPSO Detectives for questioning and charged with one count of attempted first degree murder, one count of child desertion, and one count of illegal use of a weapon.
The child desertion charge was filed because a two-year-old child was inside the mobile home at the time of the shooting. Detectives recovered the shotgun used in the shooting.
The father and son live together in the mobile home.
George W. Hardy, Jr. is being held in the Livingston Parish Detention Center in lieu of an $85,500.00 bond.
