Father shoots adult son in murder-suicide (Dickinson County, Virginia)

Not much information here, but it appears that dad BOBBY GENE CHILDRESS shot his adult son to death before thoughtfully offing himself.

The Dickenson County, Va. Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide between a father and a son.

Deputies say they found the bodies of Bobby Gene Childress, 64, and his son, Chantry Childress, 35, around 5:30 p.m. on Monday. According to deputies, the bodies were found at a residence on Blue Spruce Lane off Carico Ridge.

The Sheriff’s Office says it appears Bobby Gene Childress shot Chantry Childress, before turning the gun on himself. According to deputies, the alleged murder-suicide happened sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening.

The Sheriff’s Office says an investigation is ongoing and they don’t have a motive for the killings.
