Dad, grandfather charged with child neglect after crying baby found in front yard (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida)

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT: What the hell is going on here? How did this infant and 2-year-old child end up in this home? Whose decision was that? Where is the mother?

Dad JOHN JOSEPH TURNIER is a drug-addicted mess. Police found him lying in his bed, "intoxicated and incoherent." They also found oxycodone and Xanax in his pockets. Dad apparently lives with his elderly father, who isn't much better (leaves crying baby on the floor and tells the police the baby "will be fine"). No wonder the neighbors reported seeing a baby lying in the grass, crying.

Both men have been charged with neglect, and Florida DCF has taken the children.

Two men charged with child neglect after baby found in front yard

PALM BEACH GARDENS -- Two men have been arrested after neighbors reported seeing a baby crying in the yard.

John Joseph Turnier, 47, of 4321 Empress Street, has been charged with two counts of child neglect without great harm and six counts of drug possession.

His father, Lloyd Joseph Turnier, 81, of the same address, has been charged with two counts of child neglect without great harm, two counts of child neglect without injury, and one count of resisting an officer without violence.

Police said they were called the home by an anonymous report that said a baby was lying in the grass crying.

When police arrived at the home, a 2-year-old answered the door and let them in. Police said the home was filthy, and the baby was crying on the floor in a dirty area between the living room and the hallway.

When asked about the position of the baby, Lloyd Turnier said "What the hell do you want me to do about it? When I put him down, he just keeps crying. He will be fine."

Police found the son, John Turnier, lying in bed intoxicated and incoherent, according to a police report. Police said they found a spoon with white residue and multiple needles in the bathroom. Police said they found Oxycodone and Xanax in John Turnier's pockets.

The children were taken away by the Department of Children and Families.
