First-time meeting with dad results in rape (Capetown, South Africa)

UNNAMED DAD was meeting his 18-year-old daughter for the first time. So instead of taking her out to dinner or visiting the zoo, he repeatedly rapes her. Wow, nice first impression, Dad. Maybe the mom had good reasons for living in another country?

A Muizenberg, Cape Town, man is facing incest charges after allegedly repeatedly raping his 18-year-old daughter, after she arrived from Germany to meet him for the first time.

The man may not be named, as he has not yet pleaded to charges.On Sunday, a police spokesperson, Steven Knapp said the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Steenberg was investigating the case.

The man appeared briefly in the Muizenberg Magistrate's Court, where he was released on bail of R1 000.

As part of the bail conditions, the magistrate ordered that he report daily to the Muizenberg police station, to sign a document proving that he was complying with his bail conditions, Knapp said.

The policeman said the daughter had travelled all the way from Germany to meet her father for the first time. It was not clear who she was staying with subsequent to his arrest."As part of the investigation, forensic tests are being conducted on (the daughter's) clothing," Knapp added.

The man is expected to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrate's Court again on August 7.
