A 20-year-old Clinton Township man charged in the shaken-baby death of his girlfriend’s 21-month-old daughter in February will be arraigned July 6 in Macomb County Circuit Court.
The case against Carlos Raymore was bound over to circuit court during a preliminary exam Monday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. He is charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse in the death of Asia Mitchell.
He was being held without bond today in the county jail.
Township police said Raymore watched the toddler at the apartment he and his girlfriend shared at 16 Mile and Harper on Feb. 20 while the girl’s mother went to work.
He called his girlfriend several times, saying there were problems with the child, who was taken to the hospital. The girl had head trauma from being shaken and died the next day, police said.
