Father Of Death Row Inmate Convicted Of Child Rape

Posted on: 4:19 pm, November 16, 2012, by Stephanie Scurlock

(Memphis) A year and a half ago, James Hawkins, Sr., watched his son get the death penalty now he’s in a fight for his own freedom. He’s accused of 5 counts of child rape, in cases that involve his own daughters. We caught him coming out of court.

“You don’t have anything to say to me,” James Hawkins, Sr. snapped at our camera.

During the trial for James Hawkins, Jr., the defense team said his dysfunctional family may have led to his unthinkable crime of decapitating his girlfriend, Charlene Gaither, cutting off her hands and feet and dumping her body on the side of the road. A mitigation specialist for defense attorney, Gerald Skahan, said Hawkins father physically abused him and his brother and sexually abused his sisters.

Now those words meant to evoke sympathy for his son are haunting Hawkins, Sr., who the mitigation specialist testified actually lost count of his children, but knows he has at least 20. Five of his daughters say he raped them when they were younger. Recently, DHS removed another five younger children from the home of Hawkins, Sr. Reports are some of them are victims, too. We asked his lawyer, what kind of father he’s been to his children.

“I like the man; of course he’s a client. I don’t know anything about his parenting skills,” said Leslie Ballin, Hawkins’ lawyer.

His attorney is asking for separate trials in hopes of proving Hawkins, Sr. is not guilty. Meanwhile, prosecutors hope to prove otherwise and are considering calling his death row inmate son back from prison to testify about what he knows.

“They lied on my son, too. I ain’t got nothing to say,” said Hawkins, Sr.

He added, “They’re lying on me. I don’t have anything to anything to say. Get out of my face.”

Hawkins, Sr. will be back in court Tuesday. The judge will decide if he’ll have 5 separate trials and if he’ll revoke Hawkins’ bond as requested by prosecutors. They believe he’s a danger.

Dad convicted of raping teen daughter during weekend visitation (United Kingdom))

This isn't rocket science, folks. Dad ROBERT HAWKSWORTH was abusive to this girl's mother. Of course, he got his custody rights/visitation anyway when she finally left him. Which he used to start sexually abusing his daughter, before out-and-out raping her. Any jerk who is abusive to the mother of his children is at very high risk of doing the same to the kids--if not now, then later. Stop giving abusers custody/visitation rights and you stop this crap.

A brave teenage girl today told of how her father raped her in a sickening attack when she visited him for the weekend.

Twisted Robert Hawksworth, 54, plied daughter Emily, then 17, with wine at his Derbyshire home before putting her to bed and then climbing in with her.

The teenager had been sexually abused by Hawksworth since the age of 14, but had remained silent until the rape last year, when she reported the crime to the police.

The 18-year-old, whose parents divorced when she was seven, has now waived her right to anonymity to bravely speak out about her ordeal to help other teenagers in similar situations.

'When I woke up in the morning I felt sick and I felt like something had happened,' said Emily, who was a virgin until the horrifying attack. 'I felt violated.

 'I stayed in bed all day and on the Sunday he kept asking me to go to town with him and make me take the Pill.

'I refused to take it because I did not want to believe what had happened.

'I was blunt with him and I didn't want the conversation to be brought up.

'When I went home on the Sunday night, I wasn't going to say anything to my mum but as soon as I walked in I burst into tears.

'She knew something had happened so I told her. She was distraught and rang the police.'

On Wednesday Hawksworth, who denied rape and sexual assault, was caged for nine years after a trial at Derby Crown Court. Emily said she had not initially reported what had happened because she felt scared.

'I was young at the time,' she said. 'I did not know how to handle it.'

Hawksworth, from Findern, Derbyshire, denied raping his daughter when he was arrested, forcing her to give evidence at his trial.

Jailing him, Judge John Burgess told Hawksworth: 'She was visiting you as she regularly did for the weekend.

'During the course of that Friday evening you and she were drinking both wine and cider, alcohol you provided.

'She became very drunk and was very sick. You tended to her and she was put to bed.

'During the night you came into her room, removed her underwear and had full sex.

'She was a virgin until that happened. This was a gross breach of trust and the violation of a vulnerable girl.'

Hawksworth split up with Emily's mother in 2001 after he subjected her to an 'extremely abusive' relationship, the court heard.

Today Emily's mother Karen Atalay, 53, described her daughter's ordeal as 'terrible and heart-breaking'.

She said: 'I felt quite guilty. I felt it was my fault.

'My marriage to him [Robert] was extremely abusive but I was too frightened to tell anybody anything. 'I'm relieved that at last we have some justice.

'We have all found it very hard to lead a normal life.

'I think we have got through the worst but we are just trying to come to terms with what has happened.'

Emily, who burnt all photographs and gifts given to her by Hawksworth, is having her surname changed by deed poll in a bid to wipe away any trace of her father.

Dad charged with felony assault; 6-week-old son in intensive care (Chillicothe, Missouri)

Dad was babysitting while Mom went to a doctor's appointment. As usual, we had a dimwitted POS with a "history of physical abuse" who got "angry and frustrated" from normal infant crying. The baby is now in critical condition and on a ventilator.

Dad is identified as TIMOTHY KENE ORR.

Baby in ICU, father charged with assault

Nov. 16, 2012 12:13 p.m.

A six-week-old Chillicothe infant is in the intensive care unit at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City with severe head and facial trauma, and his father is behind bars, accused of causing those injuries.

Timothy Kene Orr, 21, of Chillicothe, was charged Tuesday with child abuse, and is being held in Livingston County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond. The charge was elevated to felony assault in the first degree today (Friday) for allegedly angrily shaking the baby and causing serious physical injuries to the infant.

Authorities say the injuries are still life-threatening, and the infant is listed in critical condition and remains on a ventilator.

"The doctor says that the child had received blunt force trauma in multiple places, has swelling of the brain and is hemorrhaging in the brain," said Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren. "The doctor has said the child's prognosis is poor."

The statement of probable cause filed with the prosecutor states that the injuries occurred when the baby's mother left the house in the 400 block of Vine Street for a doctor's appointment, as a follow-up from her pregnancy. She left the child in the care of Orr.

Upon her return about 90 minutes later, she discovered the infant acting abnormally, with bruising to his face, head, and shoulders. She and Orr took the baby to Hedrick Medical Center. The hospital contacted police to report a child with possible signs of abuse. The baby was transported by air ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Orr initially told police the infant had fallen from the kitchen counter top into the sink while he left the room, and left him unattended to retrieve a towel for bathing. Orr later confessed to shaking the baby while he was angry and frustrated because the baby was crying uncontrollably, and said that he did not know what to do.

According to the statement of probable cause, medical officials provided the following information as of today (Friday):

• The child received obvious blunt force trauma from multiple planes;
• The swelling of the brain is evolving, progressively becoming worse. It will take a couple of days to judge further progression or digression;
• The child has signs of hypoxia, oxygen has been cut off from the brain for an unknown period of time;
• Child is on an incubator at the present time;
• Child's blood pressure continues to bottom out at times;
• Obvious bruising of face, shoulder and abdomen;
• Brain is continuing to bleed;
• Child has suffered a severe neurological impact.

It is believed by medical staff that the child will have permanent brain damage as a result of injuries.

Orr reportedly has a history of physical abuse. At the time of his arrest, it was learned that he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the Raymore (Mo.) Police Department, for possession of marijuana.

Trial delayed for custodial dad, girlfriend in death of 3-year-old boy (Martinburg, West Virginia)

It seems to me that dad JAMES N. MAULDIN must have had full custody for this crime to have taken place. This torture didn't just happen over a weekend. It was ongoing. This poor kid was treated worse than many prisoners of war. Absolutely disgusting.

And though we have posted on this case several times, there is STILL not one word of explanation as to what happened to the little boy's mother. It's as if she never existed, as if sicko dad and his gal pal had found this baby in a cabbage patch.

Of course, then the authorities can avoid answering HOW and WHY this father had possession of this child, can't they?

Trial delayed for W.Va. couple charged in toddler's death

Trial postponed for James N. Mauldin and Jasmine K. Dawkins so experts have time to review file and evaluate defendant

November 15, 2012|By MATTHEW UMSTEAD

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The trial for two people charged in the New Year’s Day death of a 3-year-old boy was reset for April 1, 2013, to give experts for the state time to evaluate one of the defendants and to review a file in an abuse and neglect proceeding.

James N. Mauldin, 21, and Jasmine K. Dawkins, 23, were indicted in May on one count of death of a child by parent, guardian and/or custodian by child abuse, two counts of gross child neglect creating substantial risk of serious bodily injury and one count of presentation of false information regarding a child’s injuries in the death of Kaiwon Connelly.

Mauldin, who is the boy’s father, also was indicted on one count of child abuse causing serious bodily and malicious assault.

The couple’s trial originally was scheduled for Dec. 10 by 23rd Judicial Circuit Judge John C. Yoder, who agreed to the continuance Thursday at what was to be the defendants’ pretrial hearing.

Mauldin and Dawkins, who have been released on bond from Eastern Regional Jail since being arraigned on the charges, both waived their right to a speedy trial Thursday.

Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely said after Thursday’s hearing that the results of an evaluation of Dawkins by a defense expert raised issues that the state will explore through its own evaluation, which has yet to be conducted.

Police allege that Dawkins knowingly allowed Mauldin to inflict injuries on the boy that led to the boy’s death. Both are accused of failing to seek medical care for burns on the child’s buttocks and legs and after knowing that Mauldin struck the boy in the head, according to the indictment.

The indictment alleges the couple also falsely stated to authorities that Kaiwon Connelly fell and struck his head, causing the injuries in question.

Dawkins, whose address on her indictment was listed as 2749 Pinewood Drive in Waldorf, Md., is not the boy’s biological mother, authorities have said.

Police have said Kaiwon had multiple head injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleeds. Dawkins told police the injuries were the result of Mauldin punching the boy several times a few days before the boy was hospitalized.

The boy died at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., police said.

Dawkins told police she did not report Mauldin’s alleged mistreatment of his son because she was afraid of being abused herself, according to court documents.

Dawkins told police she had been previously abused.

Police were told the boy was burned with skillets and pans that were heated and placed underneath the child to keep him from sitting on the floor. The boy was expected to remain in a squatted position while being disciplined, police have said.

At the time of the boy’s death, the couple’s address was listed in court records as 214 Joshua Drive, Apt. 616, which is where police responded to investigate an “EMS assist-cardiac arrest” call on Dec. 31, 2011.

Dad brutally injures 8-week-old daughter during visitation; baby on life support (Vandergrift, Pennsylvania)

Another case where Daddy got joint custody and/or visitation with a newborn. This poor baby was just 8-weeks-old, and now she's on life support. All because her sh**-for-brains father was allowed access--a dude who basically assaulted an infant for crying, and then "thought nothing of it" when the baby became unresponsive. Precious hours were no doubt lost when this baby could have received treatment for her brain injuries.

You know what? If your relationship with the mother doesn't even survive the birth, maybe you're just not into the fatherhood thing, ya know? More and more, I'm convinced that these (apparently) unmarried sperm donors just need to be set free. They are bad news.

Dad is identified as MATTHEW MILISITS.

Shaken baby has brain damage; father charged

A Vandergrift man has been jailed for allegedly shaking his eight-week-old daughter so hard she sustained brain damage, state police said.

Matthew Milisits, 30, of Sherman Avenue, admitted to police he shook the baby because she wouldn’t stop crying, according to a criminal complaint filed to support charges.

The baby is on life support at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, the complaint states. A spokeswoman at Children’s declined comment.

Milisits had custody of his daughter Thursday between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., according to police.

When he returned the infant back to her mother, Samantha Ludwiczak, of Wysocki Avenue, North Apollo, the infant was unresponsive, police said.

The baby was flown to Children’s Hospital, police said.

Milisits initially denied knowing how the baby girl was injured. But then he said he had accidentally hit the infant’s head off the bathroom door, but the girl didn’t cry out so he “thought nothing of it,” according to the complaint.

Milisits said the infant eventually began to cry and soiled her diaper. He told police that when she wouldn’t stop crying, he shook her “violently” to try to get her to stop.

He was arrested at Children’s Hospital and charged with aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of children.

He has been committed to the Westmoreland County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Dad pleads guilty to raping, impregnating teen daughter (Bryan, Texas)

Notice that UNNAMED DAD had a previous criminal history of violence, and that there is NO mention of a mother in this home. Was this a single custodial dad?

Father pleads guilty to raping daughter

By Maggie Kiely The Eagle

A 38-year-old Bryan man convicted of raping and impregnating his teenage daughter was sentenced Thursday to 37 years in prison.

In addition to pleading guilty to sexual assault of a child, the man -- whose name is being withheld to protect his victim's identity -- pleaded guilty to prohibited sexual conduct and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He received a 20-year sentence for the first charge and 37 years each for the latter two charges.

He also was sentenced to 20 years in prison for deadly conduct and was ordered to serve 180 days for each of the six misdemeanor charges to which he pleaded guilty: two counts of family violence, violation of a protective order, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and driving with an invalid license.

The sentences will run concurrently, meaning they will be served at the same time. The man will not be eligible for parole until 2030 and will be required to register as a sex offender for life once he's released.

According to police reports, the rape occurred in 2009, when the man's daughter was 16.

She told authorities her father began sexually abusing her when she was 14. When asked who the father of her baby was, she said she didn't know, according to the police report.

The victim recalled for investigators a night when she'd received a text from her father instructing her to meet him in the living room because he wanted to have sex, the report states.

She told authorities her father was on top of her for a minute or two before it was over, according to police.

While being pressed by investigators, the father said his daughter had been "brainwashed" and "denied ever touching his daughter," the police report states.

A DNA test revealed that the victim's father also was the father of her baby, according to the report.

The man's aggravated assault and deadly conduct convictions stemmed from a 2007 incident in which he fired a gun at someone during an argument over a game of dominoes, then proceeded to puncture a man's car tires with a knife.

Prosecutor Kevin Capps said by offering a plea agreement, it prevented the rape victim from having to testify in public about the incident and ensured that the defendant would be locked up for a significant period.

"I'm glad this guy isn't going to be able to hurt anyone in this community for a long time," he said. "Nobody has control of what the parole board will do, but I hope they keep him in there every day of his sentence."
