Dad arrested for "allegedly" setting a house fire while his 5-year-old daughter AND his own mother were inside; why doesn't mom have custody? (Springfield, Massachusetts)

Whoa Nellie!

Notice how this article just breezes by the fact that the mother of this 5-year-old girl no longer has custody. Of course, no one will tell us why or who made that decision.

But we do find out that the paternal grandmother, the mother of what looks like a seriously disturbed sociopathic son, now has custody. Oh great! Makes me wonder about Daddy's upbringing....

Knowing how these things tend to play out in court, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Grandma did her best to trash/lie about the mother so she could have control of the granddaughter.

But given that she apparently raised a sociopath, it appears that the chickens are coming home to roost. The sociopath apparently tried to MURDER HIS OWN MOTHER in addition to his OWN DAUGHTER. All 'cause he was pissed from "an argument" over HIS ABUSE OF THE CHILD. This is the caliber of father we're dealing with.

So do tell us why Mom doesn't have custody, won't you? Maybe she isn't a candidate for Mother of the Year. I don't know. But seriously, is she worse than these two?

Oh, and while you're at it, do tell us again about the "bias" against fathers in the family court system....

Dad is identified as TORY BRYANT.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 23 year-old Tory Bryant of Springfield was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly setting a house on fire with his mother and daughter inside.

Police Captain Cheryl Claprood told 22News that Bryant's mother, Rosalyn, tried to stop her son from hitting his 5 year-old daughter. The father became upset and started arguing with his mom. Rosalyn, who has custody of her granddaughter, asked her son to leave the house. He then went downstairs to the basement, and came back upstairs shortly after, leaving the house.

Around 5:30 P.M. police and firefighters were called to the home on 286 Rosewell Ave. after smoke detectors started going off. The mother said she saw smoke coming from the basement.

She and her granddaughter were able to make it out safely, as well as another child who was inside the home at the time.

Bryant was arrested within the hour and charged with arson and three counts of attempted murder. He will be arraigned at Springfield District Court Thursday morning.
