Dad in court for severe beating of 11-year-old son during visitation; boy's skull fractured (Clark County, Ohio)

Great way to teach your kid a lesson about stealing, Dad. JAMES PARK is accused of beating his 11-year-old son with a leather belt and punching him so hard that he managed to fracture the boy's skull. And all during Daddy's visitation time too. Wonder if Daddy had a past history of this kind of behavior, and managed to get visitation anyway. Must have our rights, you know.

CLARK CO.,Ohio -- A Clark County appeared in court Friday after being accused of punching his son so hard that he fractured his skull.

Police said James Parks also used a belt to beat the 11-year-old boy.

Parks is facing criminal charges Friday for the beating.

His son, Skyler, does not live with him but was visiting him earlier this week. When he arrived home, his mother was alarmed at seeing his bruises and swollen face.

According to Skyler's mother, James Parks originally said that Skyler had rolled over in bed and bumped his head.

However, the 11-year-old said that his father punched him in the face twice and then hit him repeatedly with a leather belt.

Skyler's face is still black and blue and his jaw is swollen. He has bruises on both his face and his leg.

Officers arrested Parks and charged him with child abuse and domestic violence.

Skyler's mother, Teresa Young, said her son was in trouble for stealing. She said he needed to be punished, but that punishment should not have been a beating.

"It was all because he stole money off my brother and that was his punishment. My punishment was writing 500 sentences I will not steal. I asked him to continue that at his house because he was grounded. But that was his way of correcting," said Young.

Parks pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment Friday morning.
