Non-custodial dad being investigated in death of 3-month-old son (Augusta, Maine)

Dad SHANE SOUCY didn't live with the mother of his 4-month-old son. In fact, she lived in a different town. So I'm not sure why the mother dropped the baby off at Dad's house earlier in the day. Was it a private arrangement? Court-ordered visitation or some other "shared" custody arrangement? Would be interesting to know, as the poor child didn't survive the day--he was apparently "unresponsive" after his bath. Yea, right. We at Dastardly Dads have heard that before. Usually in connection with a shaking death.

Baby's death probed in Maine

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) -- Maine State Police say the death of a 4-month-old baby boy from Augusta is under investigation.

Connor Soucy died Tuesday afternoon at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday to determine the cause of death. Augusta police are also investigating.

The baby was rushed by ambulance to Maine General Hospital in Augusta on Monday evening. The child's father, 33-year-old Shane Soucy of Augusta, called an ambulance and said the baby was unresponsive after taking a bath. The baby was then flown by helicopter to the Bangor hospital.

The baby lived with its mother, 27-year-old Jennifer Bisson-Watson, who's been living in Farmingdale. The baby was dropped off at Soucy's house earlier in the day.
