PHOENIX (AP) - A Glendale man accused of child abuse for allegedly trying to throw his 8-year-old son out a window has pleaded not guilty in the case.
Maricopa County prosecutors say Brenden Fairbanks entered his plea Monday. His next court date is on Feb. 6.
Fairbanks was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of endangerment, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on an officer.
The charges stem from an emergency call officers received on Dec. 5.
When officers arrived, Fairbanks was seen inside an apartment with his son. Officers say he grabbed the child and lunged toward a bedroom window, causing it to break.
Officers used a stun gun on Fairbanks because he continued to resist arrest. At one point, he's accused of jabbing a pen into the side of one officer's vest.
