Dad arrested for killing 11-month-old son during visitation (Harris County, Texas)

Much that is not reported here.

Was this court-ordered visitation? If so, by whom?

Did dad TREMAINE RACHEL have a past history of abuse, threats, violence that was ignored?

Report: Dad jailed in toddler's death on Thanksgiving | December 5, 2013 | Updated: December 5, 2013 11:17pm

A Harris County father has been charged, and a week after his son's death on Thanksgiving, he is sitting behind bars, KHOU reported late Thursday.

The TV station says Tremaine Rachal has been charged with injury to a child, but that could be upgraded to murder. His bond is set at $50,000.

Officers tell KHOU that Kaden Perkins, 11 months, was visiting his father and three young half-sisters as the family and other guests celebrated the holiday at a home in the 2300 block of Union Mill Road near Veterans Memorial.

But 911 was later called and the child, who suffered a fractured skull and bruises, was dead when he arrived at the hospital, the report says.

Rachal reportedly told a judge that Kaden fell off the bed. However, that claim was questioned by a doctor who performed the autopsy, KHOU says.

Other relatives are being interviewed as possible witnesses, according to the station, and the three girls who lived in the house were placed with family members.
