Dad pleads guilty to rape, attempted murder of 2-year-old son (Brisbane, Australia)

As soon as you think you've heard every disturbing abusive dad story there was, some sick sh** like this comes up. UNNAMED DAD has pleaded guilty to rape and attempted murder of his 2-year-old son.

The boy survived Dad's attempts to strangle him and bash his head in with a claw hammer, but the full extent of the boy's injuries are still not known. This poor baby spent 9 days in the hospital after being placed in an induced coma.

Not a word here on the mother. Was she working? Was this a single or custodial dad? Was this unsupervised visitation? It would be nice if the media would provided the context for these crimes.
