Custodial dad found guilty of manslaughter in death of 4-month-old daughter (Huntsville, Alabama)

Dad is identified as GARY WILBOURN.

True to our axiom here at Dastardly Dads--that a father's custodial status will be erased or "forgotten" by the time he goes to trial--we see it clarified here that Wilbourn did in fact have custody of the baby at the time of her murder.

Gary Wilbourn, the man accused of violently shaking his 4-month-old daughter, has been found guilty of manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

Wilbourn was initially charged with capital murder in the case.

Wilbourn was arrested in 2008 after investigators said he shook Amy Jean Wilbourn because she wouldn't stop crying.

He will be sentenced on July 1.
