Dad accused of groping girls while chaperoning school field trip (Stanford, Connecticut)

Dad TOMAS MANZANO has been charged with sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest. Dad appeared to be drunk and/or high on drugs, when he started grabbing the breasts and genitals of six 10- and 11-year-old girls. It seems he was a chaperone on a school field trip when this took place. The principal called 911, but it took 8 POLICE OFFICERS to restrain this creep. Three of the girls were hospitalized, but their injuries were not specified. And all this took place in front of the father's 5th grade son, too.

STAMFORD, Conn. (WABC) -- A Connecticut man is accused of groping six 10- and 11-year-old girls while chaperoning a group of children on a field trip to New York City.

The NYPD says 35-year-old Tomas Manzano of Stamford was charged with sexual abuse child, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.

Police say when they approached Manzano, he appeared to be intoxicated. Authorities believe Manzano, who was one of the adult chaperones on the trip, mixed alcohol with his antidepressants. They say he resisted arrest and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.

The fifth graders from the Stillmeadow Elementary School in Stamford set off Wednesday morning on a Manhattan adventure. They went to the Central Park Zoo and then on a double decker tour bus ride.

Police sources told Eyewitness News that as the bus pulled up to Times Square theme restaurant Mars 2112, one of the parent chaperones began groping some of the girls.

Manzano is accused of grabbing at least six girls' breasts and genitals and trying to kiss one of them before the principal called 911.

It apparently took eight police officers to restrain him.

Three of his alleged victims were also hospitalized and the other three were being interviewed by police.

Manzano's son, who is in the same fifth grade class as the alleged victims, was one of the children who witnessed the events, investigators said.
