CPS takes 4 children from dad in porn case (Lufkin, Texas)

Not to be overtly cynical, but had this been a mother, this would be on CNN and the national news. Instead, the fact single dad PHILIP CHARLES was living in a motel with 4 children and was arrested for child porn barely made it into the public eye at all. In fact, this little item was found at the BOTTOM of the police blotter ("State Briefs") at the Montgomery County (Texas) Courier.

CPS takes 4 children of Lufkin man in porn case

LUFKIN – Child Protective Services has taken custody of four youngsters who were living with their father at Lufkin motel when he was arrested in a pornography investigation.The Lufkin Daily News reported Wednesday that CPS has placed the children, ages 12 and younger, in foster care. CPS spokeswoman Shari Pulliam says the agency continues its investigation.Lufkin police in late January arrested 59-year-old Philip Charles Taylor on five counts of possession of child pornography. Police say the children were in the motel room when Taylor allegedly viewed child porn.
