Seems drunken dad MICHAEL BARGERON was "wrestling" with his 2-year-old son at a New Year's Eve party near a burning fire pit. He was warned that he needed to stop, but he didn't. So the child fell in. So who jumped in to save the child? Not Dad. Mom. Who had to be treated for burns at the hospital. Dad was sleeping off the episode when arrested by police.

Dad Arrested After Toddler Falls Into Burning Fire Pit

PALM BAY -- The father of a 2-year-old boy faces charges of aggravated child abuse after he allowed his son to fall into a burning fire pit at a drinking party.

Investigators said Michael Bargeron, 24, got drunk at a New Year’s Eve party on Johnston Road Southeast, when he began wrestling with the boy near the fire, and would not stop, despite warnings from others.

The toddler ended up falling into the fire, but police said Bargeron did not jump in to help him.

The boy’s mother did, and rushed the child for the hospital, where he was treated for burns on his arm, stomach and buttocks.

Police said when they went to arrest Bargeron hours later, they found him sleeping at a home.

Bargeron was locked up with bond set at $50,000. If he makes bond, a judge said he would not be allowed to be with any children without other adult supervision.
