Dad charged after holding knife to child over homework (Seaford, Delaware)

Such a fine thing. A parent encouraging the growing minds of their children and supporting their education. Funny, I must have missed the PTO/PTA meeting where they went over...holding a knife to your kid for not doing her homework in the way that you wanted. I guess dad ROBERT L. WEBB got to that meeting though. At least in his head. Not a word about the mother in all this. Odd.

Delaware State Police have arrested a man accused of holding a knife up to his 7-year-old daughter because he was angry with how she went about completing her homework, according to WBOC TV.

Troopers and a social services agency responded to a child abuse complaint on Monday at the Seaford home that the man and child share.

Police say Robert L. Webb, Jr., 28, became upset over the way his daughter was completing her homework. Police say Webb punched his daughter in the arm and pushed her into a cabinet causing her to strike her head and took a knife and put it against the girl's cheek, causing it to bleed. Other siblings either witnessed or overheard the assault, according to authorities.

Police add the victim was kept out of school for a number of days presumably until she could heal from the assault. Webb was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, third-degree assault and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on $19,000 cash only bail.
