Court rules that former reality star 'clairvoyant' Graham Bishop was sane when he attacked his children

Englishman Graham Bishop, the 59-year-old medium/clairvoyant who has appeared on reality television shows such as ‘Åndernes Magt’ and ‘Klarsyn’, was sentenced to eleven years in prison and deportation by Copenhagen City Court yesterday. Bishop was found guilty of the attempted murder of his four-year-old twin daughters last week, but sentencing was delayed while the court considered Graham’s contention that he was temporarily insane at the moment of the crime.

He blamed the attack on medicine he was taking for his ADHD.

The stabbing occurred in August 2012, when the father took a knife to his daughters in the Ronald McDonald patient housing at the city hospital, Rigshospitalet. The family was there because one of the girls was receiving dialysis treatment for chronic liver failure. Graham locked himself in the room with his daughters and his wife notified police that he was making threats with a knife. After throwing himself out of the girls’ window, police kicked down the door to find that the girls had been stabbed.

Brutal attack

The court ruled that the attack on the girls was so vicious that Graham must have intended to kill them. The assault has left both girls with permanent injuries, particularly the one who was already suffering from liver failure.

It was revealed during the case that she had endured spastic paralysis, lost much of her sight and will likely live a shorter life because of her father’s attack.

Bishop moved to Denmark from Swindon in southwest England in 2000. He is described as being “active in the spiritual environment in Denmark”, which helped land him spots on several television shows. Graham claimed to be able to communicate with spirits by going into a trance and being possessed by someone who Graham calls ‘Dr Karl’. According to Bishop, Dr Karl is a German physician who was born in 1848 and began performing operations on people at the tender age of 12. Bishop claims that Dr Karl is his “main spirit guide” who uses Bishop’s body to help “heal” people in need.

On his now defunct website, Graham detailed his connection to Dr Karl:

“All of my life I felt a bit of an outsider and I have experienced many things that seemed to have no practical explanation,” Bishop wrote. “It has been many years now that I have been honoured with sharing a very deep personal connection with Spirit Dr Karl, and work in the state of ‘deep trance’ (from my viewpoint a totally unconscious state). This particular spiritual ability is rare and so I am one, of only a few, able to offer this unique service of providing such strong and direct access to those in the spirit world.” After Bishop serves his sentence, the court ordered that he be immediately deported.

He was all crazy from his ADHD meds? Sure. People on ADHD meds stab little kids in locked rooms all the time, right? While also being apparently integrated enough to traumatize the mother locked outside by sending her threatening text messages.

Doesn't even pass the smell test.

But it does sound a lot like a classic case of a controlling/abusive father out to "punish" Mom (for her real or imaginary deeds) by hurting her children. Notice that this explanation is not brought up, even though this is the kind of abusive daddy hostage situation seen way too many times in way too many places.

Court will hand down punishment next week after a determination is made on the man's mental state Copenhagen City Court found a 59-year-old man guilty of the attempted murder of his four-year-old twin daughters yesterday, but the court will have to wait until next week to hand out the punishment because it has not yet been determined if the man was temporarily insane at the moment of the crime.

The stabbing occurred in August 2012, when the father took a knife to his daughters in the Ronald McDonald patient housing at the city hospital, Rigshospitalet, where the family was staying because one of the girls was receiving dialysis treatment for chronic liver failure.

The court ruled yesterday that the attack on the girls was so vicious that he must have intended to kill them, pointing to evidence that showed the father locking himself in a room with the girls and sending threatening texts to the mother outside the door.

“I mean it! If I see the police then it will be the end of us three,” one of the texts read, according to judge, Sanne Bager.

The assault has left both girls with permanent injuries, particularly the one who was already suffering from liver failure.

It was revealed during the case that she had endured spastic paralysis, lost much of her sight and will likely live a shorter life because of her father’s attack.

Punishment in the case is expected to be handed down on November 19.

There is something rotten in the state of the Danish legal system, which presides over child custody in cases of family abuse. A growing number of judgments by national courts are placing the young victims of abuse in the custody of the abusive parent. A decree by the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament has underlined the situation and has blamed the Parental Responsibility Act – legislation that makes contact with both parents mandatory. This results in situations where mothers are helpless to protect their children from violent fathers. The law gives violent fathers rights that can include full custody of the child. The law therefore seems too severe on mothers, especially on foreign mothers. Women from another EU country or from a third country are regularly discriminated against by the authorities in custody cases that involve domestic violence.

A man who murdered his two young daughters by drugging them, strapping them into his car and then setting it on fire after a custody battle with his former wife was jailed for life in Germany on Thursday.

The 41-year-old Danish man, identified only as Peter R., had taken his daughters, aged nine and ten, on holiday to Germany in August 2011, when the judge Frank Tiemann said “resentment and jealousy” towards his ex-wife drove him to kill them both.

He stopped his car in the woods in Brandenburg, sedated the children with sleeping pills, strapped them into the back seat and doused the car in petrol before setting it alight, Potsdam district court heard.

Although he was initially in the car, Peter R. got out at the last minute and was found severely burned, staggering into the road. He was taken to a specialist burns unit in Berlin.

His lawyer argued for a manslaughter conviction, saying Peter R. had been planning to kill himself along with his daughters, but the judge convicted him of murder in light of what he said had been considerable planning. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Tiemann said that because Peter R. had clearly made the effort to buy sleeping pills to sedate the girls and filled up several canisters of petrol, it could not have been a spontaneous decision.

The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported on Thursday that the Dane had been fighting with his ex-wife about custody of their children. He told the court that he had "killed them out of love as they should not have to live a life without him."

Psychologists instead deemed him to have a “narcissistic personality disorder.”

A Danish father, whose two daughters were found burnt to death in the back seat of a car, is being charged with their murder after an autopsy revealed they had been drugged with sleeping pills.

The fire, which occurred near Berlin earlier this month, has been reconstructed by German police, with the results of the test exposing inconsistencies in the father’s story.

The man, who is still in hospital suffering with extensive burns, was spotted staggering around in a forest 20km from Berlin on 12th August. The two girls, aged nine and ten, were found to have been alive when the car was set alight. Their disorientated father claimed it had been a tragic accident.

“We have used the same type of car in different tests where we have set it on fire. The results contradict what the father has said,” German state attorney Tom Kopping said told Politiken. “We doubt there was an accident and are now treating the case as a double murder,” he added.

Potsdam, Germany - A 40-year-old Danish father was arrested Friday at a German hospital on suspicion of murdering his own daughters in a car fire two weeks ago.

Authorities acted hours after toxicology evidence emerged that 9-year-old Line Sofie and 10-year-old Marlene Marie had been given sleeping pills before the car caught fire.

The father remained Friday in hospital where he is recovering from his own burns in the incident and skin grafts.

Prosecutor Tom Koepping said a magistrate went to the hospital ward and told the father he was now in legal custody. Two policemen will permanently watch him in hospital until he can be moved to a jail.

Police suspect a dispute between the divorced parents was the motive for the killing. Danish newspapers say they had squabbled over visitation rights.

Drug traces were found in blood in the gutted small car although the girls were burned beyond recognition, proving the girls had been sedated in advance.

Police have said they are certain the girls were alive when the fire broke out in the car in a forest near Berlin.

The father alerted police after the blaze and though burned, led them to the site. He claimed to detectives the fire was an accident.

Koepping said the toxicology results and a police reconstruction of the blaze threw 'major doubt' on the father's claim.

Prosecutors said it would take two to three months to complete an inquiry and then to indict the father. They said Germany would hold the trial, although Denmark would technically also have jurisdiction since both the suspect and victims were Danish nationals.

Hospital spokewoman Angela Kijewski said doctors forecast the man would be medically fit next week to be moved to a jail and be kept in either a cell or a sick bay

As one of the commenters notes, why is it that supposedly "depressed" guys like UNNAMED DAD don't just off themselves and leave everyone else alone? How is they manage to kill three people, and then suddenly lose their nerve when it comes to killing themselves? Pretty clear, actually. Being "depressed" had little or nothing to do with the murders. Money and "communication" problems had nothing to do with it either. Suburban father admits to slaying family

A man from Greve slashed the throats of his wife and two daughters before trying to commit suicide.

A 50-year-old father has been remanded to custody for four weeks after murdering his wife and two daughters at the weekend, shocking the close-knit community in the Copenhagen suburb of Greve.

On Friday afternoon police were called to an accident outside the town of Holbæk after the man had driven his car at full speed into a parked truck. The man had suffered a number of injuries but survived. However, rescuers also made the grim discovery of the body of his 12-year-old daughter with her throat slit in the car.

Police found the murder weapon, a hobby knife, in the vehicle. According to Ekstra Bladet newspaper, the daughter also had injuries consistent with attempts to defend herself.

The man told rescuers that he had killed the rest of his family, and police subsequently found the bodies of his wife and 18-year-old daughter, also with their throats slit, in the family’s home. He reportedly killed his wife and daughter on Friday morning before picking his youngest child up from school, returning home to write a suicide note.

According to the prosecutor, the man listed stress, depression and gambling as some of the reasons for his actions.

‘I’ve always felt wrong. I wanted to protect them against the future. Our finances were completely gone and we [the man and his wife] couldn’t communicate,’ read part of the letter presented in court.

The man, whose name has not been released by police, was transported to Holbæk lower court by ambulance on Sunday before being brought in to the courthouse in a wheelchair covered with a sheet. However, he was crying so hysterically that he did not answer many of the judge’s questions.

According to prosecutors he will undergo a mental examination prior to his trial.

The other day, a pediatric nurse in New York City refused to dance with Mbarek Lafrem, a Moroccan man, in a New York City bar. What did Lafrem do? He followed her into the women’s bathroom where he attempted to rape and savagely beat her. The woman was found unconscious and is now hospitalized. She required 50 stitches to close just one of her lacerations; she also suffered a broken eye socket, a broken nose, skull fractures, and a busted jaw.

The media pointedly refrain from telling us that he is a Muslim, but with a name like “Mbarek” or ‘Mubarak,” what religion are we talking about? Lafrem now claims that she started it, that the nurse “berated him when he barged into the women’s restroom shortly after she’d rebuffed him on the dance floor.”

To a certain kind of man, from a certain kind of culture, women are always supposed to say yes, and when they say no they are provokers and deserve a beating. More: If the woman is a naked-faced infidel and dances with strange men in a public setting—she is, by definition, a prostitute and is not entitled to say no. Saying no is a “provocation” and deserves a beating. Or worse.

Now, let’s shuffle off to Buffalo, where Muzzammil ”Mo” Hassan—remember him?–is about to stand trial for beheading his wife, Aasiya Zubair Hassan. Guess what this monster’s claiming? That he’s the victim, that he was a “battered husband.” Guess what this crafty self-promoter has been doing from his jail cell? Writing letters to the media in his mother’s name in which he paints himself as the “abused” spouse. Mo’s letters also refer to an “epidemic” of battered men.

Thank God for journalist Sandra Tan of the Buffalo News who, today, reveals the extent of Mo’s depravity. According to a 21-page statement that Aasiya wrote to the court, she “painstakingly chronicled her years of torment.” In addition to numerous beatings and threats, Mo “made (Aasiya) sign memos authorizing him to punish her if she talked with the police and Child Protective Services and threatened her with the loss of her children whenever she tried to break free.” In truth, Mo used his size and weight against the much smaller Aasiya; on separate occasions he literally sat on her, imprisoned her, punched her repeatedly, drawing blood, dragged her down the driveway, tried to run her off the road in his car, and refused to allow her to seek medical treatment for her injuries.

In addition, Mo wrote emails to Aasiya’s court appointed psychologist in Aasiya’s name and from her computer account. As Aasiya, he denies being battered. “What nonsense. Complete hogwash. I have always been a strong woman and a high achiever.” Mo also drafted letters as if the psychologist had written them which he states that “Aasiya does not have the personality of an abused wife.”

Mo’s attorney, Frank M. Bogulski, has claimed in open court that his client was a “battered spouse,” and he promised a “revolutionary defense.”

A third and final example.

Over the weekend, I spoke with J. Mark Campbell, a Florida Security Council videographer who was assaulted on March 11th (the day the nurse was beaten), a day which had been designated as Muslim Capitol Day in Tallahasee. Campbell was assaulted by Professor Bassem Alhalabi who stalked Campbell but who nevertheless claimed that he, Alhalabi, was “being harassed.” Many police were present and security tapes were running. Thus, Alhalabi was charged with “simple battery.” Twice—because he also assaulted another journalist too.

According to Tom Trento of the Florida Security Council, “Alhalabi is a professor at Florida Atlantic University, a director and co-founder of the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, and, in 2003, was found guilty of illegally shipping a $13,000 military-grade thermal imaging device to Syria. His associate, Ahmed Bedier, the former executive Director of CAIR-Tampa and a spokesman for Sami al-Arian, was present at the event. You can see them both in the video here.

Investigative journalist and chairman of Americans Against Hate, Joe Kaufman, was also separately assaulted by Alhalabi the same day. And why? Quietly, respectfully, Kaufman and Campbell were covering the event. They had done their “due diligence” and were not behaving in an intrusive or unpleasant fashion. But they were journalists and citizens exercising their First Amendment rights. Nevertheless, Alhalabi (who was also a supporter and associate of convicted terrorist Sami al-Arian, and who is, himself, a chemical engineer) felt “pestered” by their presence. Their very existence got on his nerves. Or was it the fact that Campbell and Kaufman were documenting what Muslims were doing on American public property that bothered him?

Surely, that’s provocation enough. Alhalabi kept finger pointing. He had people block Campbell’s camera. He kept advancing and “swatting at” Campbell’s camera. He had an associate take his camera and shove it up close into Campbell’s face. He “punched” at Campbell’s camera and face. According to Campbell, Alhalabi “physically pushed and shoved me.” He had previously done the same thing to Kaufman.

The police finally asked Campbell and Kaufman—not Alhalabi– to leave. Not because they’d “done anything wrong” but because, said the officer, “your presence is offensive to this group. We must tell you to leave to keep the peace.” And, the local media (WTXL-TV) which promised to cover what had happened, backed down. They interviewed Campbell and Kaufman but, according to Campbell, after promising to run the interview, never did so.

Let me understand this. Danish cartoonists can’t draw cartoons that “offend” some Muslims—please understand, these people have been “offended,” they feel as if they’ve been “attacked,” “provoked”; if they stage riots, kill people, even try to kill the cartoonist—well, the cartoonist started the fight. Salman Rushdie threw the first punch too when he published a novel which “offended” Khomeini and his followers. And, if two American journalists and bloggers want to cover a Muslim Day event in a public setting (in the State Capitol Building)—they deserve to be shoved, pushed, threatened, and thrown out.

Likewise, if a naked-faced woman refuses to do whatever it is that a Muslim man from Morocco wants her to do—such a woman deserves to be beaten within an inch of her life. Her actions have provoked his deeply socialized, totally justified rage. And, if a Muslim woman refuses to be beaten and terrorized any longer by her Muslim husband and not only dares to leave but plans to keep the house and children too—then “beheading” her is the only option, isn’t it? Poor Mo. A violent man has had his cruelties towards his wife and children publicly exposed for all to see. He has been shamed. Is this not “abuse?” By definition, wasn’t Mo Hassan “abused” by any wife who would dare to throw him out? He killed her in self-defense. All those years of being battered by her led to this showdown.

Folks: This is how terrorists think, feel, and behave. See the pattern? Watch out for it. Strategize how to defeat it because it’s all over us now.

The second case in a week of parents subjecting their children to domestic abuse has surfaced in Jutland

A 60-year-old Egyptian man is in custody in the Jutland town of Sønderborg, facing charges of violence, threats and sexual assault against his own children.

According to TV2 News, the man has a total of 11 children with two wives – a Danish woman to whom he is married, and a German woman, whom he also considered himself married to.

Reportedly, the charges include incest committed against two of the man’s daughters. Social authorities say the two families were living under the same roof.

The man has four children from his German wife and seven children from the Danish woman, who told police that the alleged abuse had been occurring for a long period. In 2003, one of the daughters accused her father of sexual assault but later withdrew the complaint.

The children’s school, a teacher and a social worker had also previously notified authorities of domestic violence occurring in the household. In August of last year, Sønderborg council finally intervened in the case, leading to yesterday’s arrest.

But the case was reportedly being handled behind closed doors by the council, and the police therefore had little information about it. The matter has now been handed over to the public prosecutor, who will decide what specific charges the man will eventually face.

The man has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Since the arrest, seven of the children have been taken into custody by social services.

Social affairs minister Benedikte Kiær is now demanding an official statement from Sønderborg Council on the case by next Thursday.

‘It is absolutely inconceivable that the abuse apparently went on for several years before the council responded to the reports of violence and sexual abuse of these children,’ said Kiær.

Yesterday’s arrest comes on the heels of last week’s abuse case from Brønderslev, where a couple is facing charges of violence against their 20-year-old mentally-impaired daughter. Police believe the couple’s eight other children have also been victims of severe neglect.

Kiær said she also plans to hold a meeting with national council association Local Government Denmark over the issue.

‘It doesn’t do any good to have clear rules for assisting vulnerable children when the councils aren’t making use of them,’ she said.

Family fight turns tragic as Odense father beats his 13-year-old daughter to death in the family home.

A 40-year-old Odense man faces a murder charge after beating his teenage daughter with a blunt instrument, police say.

The girl died in a hospital emergency room from injuries sustained in the beating yesterday afternoon in the family’s apartment in the Bolbro district of Odense, Funen Police lead investigator Jack Liedicke said.

School friends gathered in front of the apartment on Sunday afternoon and painted a sad picture of their young friend.

They told Fyens Stiftstidende newspaper that the girl’s mother had died some years ago and that she had become more introverted of late.

The family had recently moved into the Bolbro apartment and neighbours said there was nothing to suggest any problems, describing them as a ‘quiet and easygoing family’.

Police described them as a ‘normal Danish family’.

The girl’s stepmother, twin brother and infant sibling were present at the time of the attack.

Police said the woman was receiving psychological help while the twin brother was being looked after by another family in the city.

The father was arrested and questioned on Sunday evening and faces charges of murder today.
