Dad in "custody battle" charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 4-month-old daughter (Livingston, Louisiana)

Previous articles on this case mention that dad EDUARDO KYLE HERODIAS was in a "custody battle" with the mother of these twin babies when he "allegedly" shook them, causing severe injury to one girl, and death to the other. See our previous post here:

Daddy has now been formally charged with 1st-degree murder. Do we need to explain the links between abusive violent fathers and "custody fights" directed against the mother again?

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - Authorities have now charged a father with murder in connection with his baby daughter's death.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, Eduardo Kyle Herodias, 20, of Denham Springs faces a first-degree murder charge for the death of his 4-month-old daughter, Kaylene, in May.

Deputies said Herodias was initially charged with attempted first-degree murder after the victim's twin sister, Kayla, was severely injured.

Detectives said Herodias was officially charged Tuesday with murdering the other child because of the autopsy revealed the little girl died from injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

The coroner indicated the surviving twin had similar physical injuries.

He has been booked in the Livingston Parish Detention Center since May 6, when the incident happened.

Investigators said Herodias admitted shaking the twins.

He is currently waiting for bond to be set on this new charge.
