Custodial dad had long history with CPS before 10-year-old daughter dies after convulsing (Zeeland, Michigan)

What the hell is going on here? Why doesn't this reporter even think to ask the most obvious question: How did UNNAMED DAD acquire custody of this now dead (apparently murdered) girl, and how did he retain custody despite YEARS of complaints to child protective services? Why did they once remove the child, only to return her again to Daddy's "care"? Where is the mother, and why was this child removed from her care and by whom? Another case to cite when you hear complaints about how poor daddies are discriminated against by the "system"--NOT.

Court documents allege years of abuse against young girl

ZEELAND, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The investigation into the suspicious death of a young girl has turned up a troubled past.

Ten-year-old Sandra Flores died Thursday. Authorities say she was rushed to Holland Hospital after suffering convulsions at her father's home in Zeeland. She died a short time later.

Flores' death is being called suspicious because of abnormal bruising found on her cheek.

Newschannel 3 has been digging into the case, looking at family court documents.

Complaints from Child Protective Services allege years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

Flores was removed from her father's care in November of 2008, but returned in January of 2009.

Almost a year later, CPS returned to a judge with further allegations, hoping to remove the girl from the home, but they were denied.

A memorial service for Flores has been scheduled for Monday night. That service will be at 8:00 pm at Creekside Apartments in Zeeland.
