Father arrested in child's beating death

ADELANTO • A father is behind bars for the beating death of his 18-month-old daughter, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said on Thursday.

David Jackson, 27, of Apple Valley was arrested Wednesday for the homicide after investigators noticed injuries on the child consistent with an assault, Arden Wiltshire, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department said.

Officials were called out to the 11200 block of La Habra Avenue at about 2:30 a.m.

The child was badly beaten and died of her injuries.

Jackson is being held on $500,000 bail.
