Dad, girlfriend tie up his teenage son to keep him from running away (Deltona, Florida)

Dad JONATHAN VIERA and his girlfriend have been arrested on aggravated child abuse charges. Seems these two tied up Dad's teenage son (binding his wrists and ankles) and left him on a couch for hours. These two dipsh--- apparently figured that this would motivate the boy not to run away again. Now why wouldn't this boy want to spend time with a charming guy like Daddy? You connect the dots.

Neighbor's contacted the boy's mother, Dad's ex-wife, who contacted the authorities. It isn't specified here what "rights" Daddy had. But whatever they are, they need to be ended. Especially when a child enters his or her teen years, it is UTTERLY POINTLESS to force them into contact with a parent they obviously dislike and no longer wish to spend time with.

But how much do you want to bet that some fool is reading this article somewhere in Florida and screaming "parental alienation!"?

DELTONA, Fla. -- A Deltona man and his girlfriend have been arrested on suspicion of tying up a teen and leaving him on a couch for hours as a form of punishment for running away, deputies said.

According to Volusia County sheriff's deputies, the boy ran away and was reported missing Wednesday night. He was found later in the night by a deputy who returned him to the man, deputies said.

Jonathan Viera, 35, and his girlfriend, Jennifer Terrell, 25, then bound the boy by tying his wrists together behind his back, deputies said. They also tied his ankles together and left him on a couch for hours, deputies said.

Another teen boy in the house cut the zip ties off at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, five hours after he was tied up, deputies said.

Viera's ex-wife was contacted by neighbors, who called the Department of Children and Families and the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies interviewed Viera and Terrell, who said they tied the teen up to prevent him from running away again, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The pair was arrested and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach where they are being held with no bond on aggravated child abuse charges.
