NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- A father accused of leaving his son in a car for hours while he gambled is in some serious legal trouble.

32-year-old Kyuyoun Lee was aided by a Korean translator inside Norwich Superior Court. He's accused of leaving his seven-month-old son in a car for seven hours while he gambled at Mohegan Sun.

"What does he have to say about that," asked News 8's Tina Detelj.

"Well I definitely think the allegations are very serious," replied Sung Ho Hwang, Lee's attorney.

News 8 learned more about the Waterbury father from attorney Sung Ho Hwang. He tells us he is trying to get his client accelerated rehabilitation because he has no prior criminal record and is the sole supporter of his family. However, he also has a gambling problem and is now seeking help.

"Are you saying that his addiction led him to make some poor decisions," Detelj asked.

"Yeah absolutely," said Hwang.

"This is a human life, a little...an infant," said Tammy S., of New London. "This is an infant baby that cannot handle being out in the sun right now like we are today."

"There are certain mitigating factors," said Hwang. "It was overnight. He did check on the baby every couple of hours, but still I understand that was a serious charge."

Lee faces charges of leaving a child unsupervised and risk of injury to a minor.

At the time of his arrest Lee's infant son was taken away by DCF. He was returned to the family the next day, but his attorney says that Lee is not allowed to watch him without his wife present.

"What does his wife have to say about this," Detelj asked.

"Obviously she is very concerned and she knows that he has this problem," Hwang replied, "and she's helping him with it, with the process."

This is their first child.

Dad murders ex-wife, 3-year-old son, 2-year-old daughter (Leicester, England, United Kingdom)

Once again, we have a mom who finally divorced her violent, drug-addicted husband--only to get slaughtered (along with their two kids) before she could relocate someplace safe. The killer dad this time is ARAM AZIZ. And he had issued death threats before. Honor killing?

Hat tip to C.

TRAGIC Joy Small was days from escaping her crazed ex-husband when he murdered her and their two children, it emerged last night.

Joy's divorce from violent Aram Aziz, 32, came through at the end of last month.

Friends said she planned to leave her home in Leicester and take son Aubarr, three, and daughter Chanarra, two, to Sheffield to start a new life.

But she and the youngsters were found dead in their flat on Saturday - the day after Aziz's body was discovered in a nearby park.

One pal said: "Joy was finally happy and talking excitedly about the move to Sheffield, where she had family.

"She was determined to get away from Aram. He was very possessive.

"He once told her that if she ever left him he'd kill her. It turns out it wasn't just an idle threat.

"Maybe she told him she was leaving the area and he just flipped."

Suspected robber Aziz, an Iraqi Kurd, was well-known to police and it was claimed he had links to people smuggling gangs. The mechanic had huge debts, drug and gambling problems - and a fierce temper.

It emerged last night that he was found by a park worker after hanging himself from a shed roof.
Post mortems were completed on his victims but police said further tests were needed before they can reveal how they died.

A restaurant worker in Leicester's Kurdish community said last night that Aziz was "unhinged".

He said: "He often had a crazy look in his eye.

"He smoked skunk and took cocaine and was always skint."

Dad charged with leaving 7-month-old son in pick up truck while gambling at the racetrack (Rochester, New York)

Once again, we have a story where some obvious back story has been omitted. If dad CLINT VANEPPS was married or in a committed relationship, then why not just leave the baby at home with Mom if you're going to the race track? Or was Daddy "caretaking" because Mom had to work? (And don't get me started on the mothers of young infants who are forced to work while daddies play.) Or was this a custody/visitation issue? Did Daddy's visitation time just HAPPEN to coincide with a time when he got that gamblin' itch? Or --god forbid--did he actually have custody of this baby? Questions, questions...and no answers.

A father is accused of leaving his infant son outside in a cold pick up truck while he gambled inside at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack Monday.

Police have charged 25-year-old Clint Vanepps of Greece with endangering the welfare of a child. According to Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero, Vanepps claims he was only going to be gambling for a short time and didn’t think any harm would come to his son.

It was around 2:45 Monday afternoon when a woman walking through the parking lot of the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack heard a noise coming from a pick up truck.

Sheriff Povero, said, “We're very grateful that she took the time to check out this noise. Because she sees in the truck what appears to be an infant covered in a very thin blanket and the vehicle was locked up with nobody around.”

Ten minutes later the baby was rescued by security guards. They used a jimmy to unlock the truck and then took the baby inside where an EMT warmed him up and changed his diaper. All this while, they paged and tried to find the dad inside.

Sheriff's Deputies estimate the infant had been in the truck for 47 minutes in 15 degree temperatures. The good news is that he is okay.

Sheriff Povero says he wishes this was an isolated incident. “Unfortunately we do see different type of child abuse cases in different forms. If you think back it was just a few months ago that we were talking to the news media about people who left young children in cars that were overheated.”

Philly Man Allegedly Left Daughters In Minivan

BENSALEM, Pa. - Another parent faces charges of leaving a child – in this case, two of them – in a car while he went inside a suburban Philadelphia casino to celebrate his birthday, police say.

Tan Truong, 38, of the 9600 block of Hoff Street in Philadelphia, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of his 6- and 8-year-old daughters, Bensalem police said.

Officers were called to the Parx Casino located on Street Road at 1:20 a.m. Monday for a report of two children left in a vehicle. Police spoke to a security guard who said two girls were found without parental supervision in a Toyota Siena in the parking lot.

According to police, investigation revealed that Truong entered the casino at 12:50 a.m. to celebrate his own birthday, allegedly leaving his children in the vehicle.

Security began searching for Truong and found him on the casino floor at 1:45 a.m. He was escorted back to the vehicle and interviewed by police.

He'll be required to appear in court on a future date, police said.

At least nine children have allegedly been left outside Parx Casino since it opened in December of last year.

Earlier this year, after five summertime incidents, Pennsylvania casino regulators said Parx management needed to do a better job addressing the problem of players leaving their children in cars while they gamble.

Casino officials said they were adding extra parking lot patrols during busy times and any players leaving kids
